Patent number: 10750797Abstract: The present invention is a deployable segmented sport equipment for reducing the impact force on sport equipment worn by a user by using deployable panels. The invention has a body defining a recess, and a panel movable within the recess. The panel includes a panel magnetic element capable of being acted upon by a magnetic force. An electromagnet is provided producing an attractive or repulsive magnetic force on the panel magnetic element. A proximity sensing device capable of sensing an object at a distance from the deployable segmented sport equipment is provided with the body. An electronic controller unit receives signals from the proximity sensing device and controls operation of the controllable magnetic element so as to deploy or retract the panel from or into the recess. The panel being deployed prior to impact with the object, with the repulsive force being controlled to absorb the impact force after impact.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2016Date of Patent: August 25, 2020Inventors: Sebastian Yoon, David A. Guerra

Patent number: 9999263Abstract: The present invention is sport equipment for reducing the impact force by a user wearing the sport equipment. The sport equipment has an outer body, an inner body in spaced relation with the outer body, at least one impact absorbing member located between the outer and inner bodies, and at least one first magnetic element located in a longitudinal bore defined through the impact absorbing member. A gap is defined between the first magnetic element and an inner surface of the outer body. The first magnetic element has a first pole orientated in a direction exterior of the sport equipment, and is configured to produce a repulsive magnetic force when a second magnetic element of a second sport equipment is at a predetermined distance from the sport equipment prior to the sport equipment contacting the second sport equipment.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 2015Date of Patent: June 19, 2018Inventor: Sebastian Yoon

Publication number: 20170043230Abstract: The present invention is related to a sport post associated with a goal, a score or finish line, and a method of using the sport post. The sport post includes at least one post defining at least one slot along a longitudinal axis of the post. The post is substantially aligned with an edge adjacent a sport area associated with a sport surface for determining a sport condition of a goal, a finish or a score. At least one transparent member is received through the slot, and has a configuration so that at least a portion of the edge is visible through the transparent member. The sport post can be associated with a system including a reflective strip on the sport surface, an electromagnetic radiation transmitting device and a detection device for determining if a sport element crosses the edge.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 13, 2015Publication date: February 16, 2017Inventors: Sebastian Yoon, David Guerra

Patent number: 9545125Abstract: The present invention is a magnetic segmented sport equipment for reducing the impact force on sport equipment using deployable segments. The magnetic segmented sport equipment has a body defining a recess, and a panel movable within the recess. The body and the recess each have magnetic elements associated therewith, with similar pole orientation. The panel has magnetic elements that are aligned with the magnetic elements of in the recess. A biasing element is located in the recess which provides a spring force against the panel. The panel is retained in the recess by an attraction force between the panel magnetic elements and the recess magnetic elements, which is greater than the spring force. The attraction and spring forces are configured so that the spring force is greater than the attraction force when an additional force in the direction of the spring force is combined with the spring force.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 2013Date of Patent: January 17, 2017Inventors: Sebastian Yoon, David A. Guerra

Patent number: 9072330Abstract: The present invention is a sport equipment system for reducing the impact force on sport equipment using magnetic repulsion. The sport equipment system includes sport equipment that is worn by a wearer. The sport equipment has a body, at least one magnetic element associated with the body, and an impact absorbing member configured to receive at least a portion of the magnetic element. The magnetic element has a first pole orientated in a direction exterior of the sport equipment, and is configured to produce a repulsive magnetic force when a second magnetic element of a second sport equipment is at a predetermined distance from the sport equipment prior to the sport equipment contacting the second sport equipment. The magnetic element reduces the impact force prior to a potential impact, and the impact absorbing member reduces the impact force after any impact.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2013Date of Patent: July 7, 2015Inventor: Sebastian Yoon

Publication number: 20140102379Abstract: The present invention relates to an area animal authorization system and method for allowing in designated areas only certified animals having indicators that correspond with certain behavioral characteristics and/or training proficiency. The method includes the steps of providing at least one signage at an area, wherein the signage has a signage indicator. Assessing the animal for behavioral characteristics and/or training proficiency. A requestor will then request an animal indicator from an entity, and then the entity will issue an animal indicator based on the animal's assessment. Thereafter, the animal is authorized to access the area if the signage indicator corresponds with the animal indicator issued to the animal. The animal indicator can be a tag; an element attached to a tag; a color; a leash; or an information card, and can be partially or entirely colored.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 17, 2013Publication date: April 17, 2014Inventor: Sebastian Yoon
