Abstract: The invention relates to a method of detecting fraud for an access control system using biometric recognition, comprising the steps consisting in: taking at least two images (S2) of a face presented to the access control system by an individual (I) according to at least two positions of the individual in front of the access control system, or two angles of picture-taking of the individual, processing these two images to determine a score representative of the flatness of the face appearing on the images, and as a function of this flatness score, detecting a possible fraud on the part of the individual, said detection conditioning the implementation of an identification processing of the individual by the access control system. The invention also relates to an access control system implementing said method.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method of coding at least one still or animated image, in which said image is associated with (i) a basic mesh formed by a set of faces that are defined by a set of vertices and edges and (ii) coefficients in a base of wavelets corresponding to local modifications to the basic mesh, known as wavelet coefficients, wherein the coded data rate is controlled. The method includes the following steps: controlling a first rate of data representative of a basic mesh that meets a first rate criterion; controlling a second rate of data representative of wavelet coefficients according to a second rate criterion; and finally optimizing the coded data rate by controlling the quantification characteristics of the selected wavelet coefficients.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for encoding an image having a hierarchical mesh associated therewith, comprising the wavelet encoding of said mesh. One such encoding method involves the use of at least two types of wavelets which are applied selectively to different areas of the image.
