  • Publication number: 20220048814
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a partially textured glass article that includes (a) providing partially textured mother glass substrate that includes a first main surface and a second main surface which are opposed to each other; (b) irradiating the first main surface of the glass substrate with a laser to form a separating line on the first main surface that defines contour lines and extends from the first main surface to the second main surface dividing the glass article from the glass substrate, the glass article being a size smaller than the mother glass substrate; and (c) separating the partially textured glass article is separated from the mother glass substrate by the separating line. The method allows cutting a large partially textured mother glass substrate, with high precision, into smaller articles of partially textured glass at a requested size.

  • Publication number: 20210363054
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a coated glass article that includes (i) preparing a glass substrate having a first and second opposed main surfaces, (ii) irradiating at least the first main surface of the glass substrate with a laser to form at least one separating line defining contour lines, for dividing at least one glass article from the glass substrate, the glass article having a shape and/or size different from the glass substrate of step (i), (iii) chemically strengthening the glass substrate on which at least one separating line is formed, the separating line extending in a depth direction from the first main surface to the second main surface, and (iv) separating of the at least one glass article from the glass substrate according to the at least one separating line. In addition, the glass substrate is coated between steps (iii) and (iv).

  • Publication number: 20200371211
Abstract: A detection device includes (a) a LiDAR sensing device and (b) a housing enclosing the LiDAR sensing device, the housing including at least one cover lens. At least a portion of the cover lens is made of at least one glass sheet having an absorption coefficient lower than 5 m?1 in the wavelength range from 750 to 1650 nm. The cover lens helps to protect the LiDAR sensing device from external degradation.

  • Patent number: 9487993
Abstract: The invention relates to a spacer (8) to be sandwiched between first and second glass sheets (5) of a vacuum glazing panel, such as to maintain a first space between the glass sheets, which space forms a first cavity (4) under a vacuum of less than 1 mbar, a sealing joint (1) being positioned on the periphery of the glass sheets enclosing the first cavity. According to the invention, one such spacer (8) comprises cold-worked austenitic stainless steel.

  • Publication number: 20140205774
Abstract: The invention relates to a glazing unit, in particular an insulating glazing unit, comprising at least a first (5) and a second (5) glass sheet joined together via at least one spacer (8) that keeps them a certain distance apart from each other and, between said at least two glass sheets, at least one internal space (4) closed by a peripheral seal (101) placed on the periphery of the glass sheets, around said internal space, the seal having a U-shaped cross section comprising a first flange (ion) securely fastened to the first glass sheet and a second flange (1012) securely fastened to the second glass sheet. According to the invention, the first flange is securely fastened in a first recess (521) produced in the edge face of the first glass sheet.
