  • Patent number: 11863862
Abstract: A display device (100) obtains (S210) an image, obtains (S220) a current measure of inclination of a screen (110) of the display device (100), rotates (S230) the image to compensate for the inclination to render the image parallel with the horizon, scales (S240) and displays (S250) the image entire and horizontally on the screen. The image can be part of a video for which other images are processed to be displayed horizontally. The image can be scaled to maximise the size of the image when displayed on the screen (110); this can be performed after a period of unchanged inclination.

  • Patent number: 11695981
Abstract: An electronic program guide, EPG, comprises a first portion and a second portion. The first portion comprises a list of channels and, for each channel in the list, a list of scheduled audiovisual content. The second portion comprises a selection area or section and a first graphical element representing a time line. The selection section may be used to select scheduled audiovisual content according to a selection criterion. Second graphical elements that represent scheduled audio visual content resulting from the selection are then placed on the first graphical element. The relative position of the second graphical elements on the first graphical element is determined by chronological order.

  • Publication number: 20190354346
Abstract: A processor in an apparatus having a plurality of audio output interfaces receives volume commands from a control interface configured to receive commands from a control device comprising at least one volume button enabling two input possibilities. Until a selection of an audio output interface has been validated a volume button command received causes selection of an audio output interface. Upon validation of the selection of the audio output interface, the processor modifies an output audio volume for the validated audio output interface in accordance with received volume commands. A first received volume command can cause the processor to display selectable audio outputs.

  • Publication number: 20190306579
Abstract: A first interface of a device receives content from a further device, at least one hardware processor analyses the content to find active elements that will be visible on a screen when displayed, generates a page by overlaying a first part of the content that will be visible on the screen when displayed with graphic elements respectively corresponding to found active elements, sends the page to a third interface for display on the screen and activates a corresponding active element upon reception, via a second interface from a user input device, of a command comprising an identifier displayed in a graphic element. In case the identifier corresponds to a graphic element associated with a group comprising a plurality of active elements, graphic elements corresponding to each active element in the group are overlaid over the first image.

  • Publication number: 20180199097
Abstract: A method for accelerating channel changes from a previous channel to a new channel in a video decoding device is proposed. A salient idea is to monitor the time intervals between channel change events so as to detect when a user is looking forward quickly browsing a set of TV channels. The disclosed method comprises at least two operation modes: a normal operation mode and a burst operation mode. In case the time between two consecutive channel change events is below a first value, the disclosed method comprises operating the channel change into a burst operation mode, wherein operating the channel change in a burst operation mode comprises only a subset of the features comprised in operating the channel change in a normal operation mode.

  • Patent number: 9420335
Abstract: A digital decoder for television receiver, comprises an input (E) for receiving a digital audio/video signal (SAV), means for demodulating and decoding the input signal into an output signal intended for the television receiver, and a first buffer memory (8) into which the input signal is diverted after demodulation (SD) when the decoder is placed in a so-called “live” mode of operation. In a so-called “playback” mode of operation, the signal recorded in the first buffer memory constitutes the output signal. This decoder comprises a second buffer memory (9) into which the demodulated input signal (SD) is diverted when the decoder is placed in the “playback” mode, the signal recorded in the second buffer memory (9) constituting the output signal when the decoder is switched from the “playback” mode to another so-called “return to live” mode of operation.

  • Patent number: 7890981
Abstract: The invention makes configuring satellite decoders easier. An automatic detection method can configure the decoder without having to determine the installation beforehand. The automatic detection method tests different configuration possibilities in order to determine the used antenna system. A series of input selection commands are sent for a remote antenna switch corresponding to a given range of switch control possibilities, the said range being independent from the used antenna system.

  • Publication number: 20100020879
Abstract: The method is it comprises the following steps: determination of the prediction window type related to the motion vector, non-outgoing or outgoing according to whether the prediction window is positioned entirely or in part inside the reference image. if the prediction window is of outgoing type, filling a prediction buffer area having dimensions at least equal to that of the prediction window and positioned so as to include the prediction window, with the pixels of the reference image that are common to the prediction area and, for the remaining part, by copying, from said pixels, those located on the edge of the image, calculating the predictor from the pixels of the buffer area located in the prediction window. The applications relate to compression in H 264 or MPEG 4 part 10 format.

  • Publication number: 20070294728
Abstract: The data stream constituting an electronic programme guide EPG containing video and/or audio previews is intended to be downloaded into a digital services decoder for television receiver. It comprises first header data blocks (DD,MC,SD) containing a directory of the data blocks of the stream, a routine intended for the decoder for the loading into memory and the running of the electronic programme guide in the decoder, and screen display parameters, and second data blocks (PD1,PD2,PD3) each containing a video and/or audio preview. The first header data blocks (DD,MC,SC) are repeated in the stream between the second data blocks (PD1,PD2,PD3) so as to improve the convenience of use of the EPG service.

  • Publication number: 20060031871
Abstract: A method for forcing a terminal to perform an action, and a corresponding terminal and public table. A system broadcasts a public table comprising code for the action. The terminal receives the table, and extracts and executes the code. In a preferred embodiment, the system is a MPEG system and the terminal a decoder. The MPEG broadcast system inserts code into a conditional access table or a programme map table and broadcasts it. The action is advantageously a reset of the decoder which, when it is switched on again, automatically makes it download the latest version of applicable code, such as the operating system. An advantage is that the system operator can make the decoder perform actions, such as upgrading to a newer software version without user interaction.
