  • Publication number: 20210127967
Abstract: There is described an automated slit lamp system for imaging an eye of a patient. The automated slit lamp system generally has: an illuminator emitting an illumination beam towards the eye of the patient during examination, the illuminator being operable to illuminate the eye of the patient in different illumination patterns; a controller communicatively coupled to the illuminator, the controller controlling the illuminator to automatically illuminate the eye of the patient with a sequence of illumination patterns comprising at least a first illumination pattern and a second illumination pattern being different from the first illumination pattern, the first and second illumination patterns being selected from a group comprising: diffuse illumination, direct focal illumination, tangential illumination, retroillumination, indirect illumination and sclerotic scatter illumination; and a camera generating images of the eye during both the first and second illumination patterns.

  • Publication number: 20110198153
Abstract: Disclosed is a modular platform comprising a horizontal frame that is made of four angle irons and is devised and sized to receive and support a grid on which one or more persons can stand. Four supporting legs, each made of an angle iron, are respectively connected to the four corners of the frame, and extend below the same in order to maintain it at a distance from the ground. Reinforcing pieces are positioned below the frame and connected to the supporting legs for reinforcing the platform. The platform also comprises at least two thin holding bars extending horizontally between two opposite sides of the frame, in order to support the grid on the frame while preventing it from staying directly on the angle irons forming the frame. Each supporting leg has a lower end provided with a supporting foot that is adjustable in height, and has a lower end of a round shape to reduce the contact surface with the ground. The platform structure makes the platform very easy to clean.

  • Publication number: 20100298347
Abstract: Substituted 2-naphthoic acids of structural formula are effective as antagonists of the biological activity of GPR105 protein. They are useful for the treatment, control or prevention of disorders responsive to antagonism of this receptor, such as diabetes, particularly, Type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, lipid disorders, obesity, atherosclerosis, and conditions associated with the Metabolic Syndrome.

  • Publication number: 20090145207
Abstract: A device includes a first rotating cylinder embedded within a second rotating cylinder. The two cylinders define a gap therebetween for containing the continuous phase, wherein the continuous phase is submitted to the relative rotation movement of the two cylinders thus creating a flow in the continuous phase. The variation of structure of the continuous phase is visualized and characterized through optical means such as high speed cameras, laser sources, laser optics and lenses.

  • Patent number: 6337778
Abstract: A disk drive includes a disk having a recording surface and a write element for writing a sequence of symbols in a continuous-time signal on the recording surface. The disk drive includes a frequency generator for generating a plurality of primary phase write clock signals having a channel frequency fch. Each of the primary phase write clock signals has a selected primary phase shift from another one of the primary phase write clock signals. The disk drive includes a programmable phase synthesizer for generating a secondary phase write clock signal having the channel frequency fch and a selected secondary phase shift from one of the primary phase write clock signals. The programmable phase synthesizer includes programmable means for selecting two of the primary phase write clock signals and element for performing vector addition of the selected primary phase write clock signals to generate the secondary phase write clock signal.
