    Abstract: A circuit device includes a luminance analysis circuit, a luminance information calculation circuit, and a color correction circuit. The luminance analysis circuit executes luminance analysis on image data, and obtains dimming information for local dimming control based on a result of the luminance analysis. The luminance information calculation circuit calculates, based on the dimming information on n×m light source elements, luminance information indicating a luminance of light reaching a target pixel from the n×m light source elements. Among the plurality of light source elements of the backlight, the n×m light source elements are arranged around the target pixel for color correction in the local dimming control. The color correction circuit executes color correction on image data on the target pixel based on the luminance information, and outputs the image data after the color correction to the display device.

    Abstract: A circuit device is used for a head-up display apparatus. The circuit device includes a distortion correction circuit and an error detection circuit. The distortion correction circuit performs a distortion correction on input image data as image data of an input image and outputs output image data as image data of an output image after the distortion correction. Respective first divisional areas of a first divisional area group formed by division of the input image correspond to respective second divisional areas of a second divisional area group in the output image in the distortion correction. Here, the error detection circuit performs detection of a distortion correction error of the respective second divisional areas by comparing the input image data of the respective first divisional areas to the output image data of the respective second divisional areas.

    Abstract: A circuit device includes an image processing circuit, a CRC calculation circuit, and a determination circuit. Processing target image data obtained by adding known image data to effective image data is input to the image processing circuit, and the image processing circuit executes image processing on the processing target image data. The image processing circuit outputs processed effective image data which is the effective image data subjected to the image processing and processed known image data which is the known image data subjected to the image processing. The CRC calculation circuit obtains a CRC value based on the processed known image data. The determination circuit determines correctness of the image processing by comparing the CRC value with a CRC expected value of the processed known image data.

    Abstract: A circuit apparatus includes an image acquisition circuit, an error detection circuit, and a search circuit. The error detection circuit determines an indicator representing the degree of dissimilarity between a foreground image and a background image out of a display image based on the result of correlation operation and performs error detection on the display image based on the indicator. The search circuit searches the display image for the display position of the foreground image based on the reference image, which serves as a reference for the foreground image. The error detection circuit performs the error detection based on the display position searched for by the search circuit.
