  • Publication number: 20220026240
Abstract: A sensor unit for measuring a rotational state of a shaft may include a transmission. The transmission may be connected to or configured to connect to the shaft. The transmission may have at least two transmission elements that are in engagement with one another via a toothing. At least one of the at least two transmission elements is a gearwheel whose rotation about a rotational axis is detected by a sensor. The at least one gearwheel and the toothing arrangement of the at least one gearwheel may be formed by a printed circuit board. A track may be arranged on an end side of the gearwheel that faces the sensor, and the sensor may scan the track to measure a rotational state of the gearwheel about the rotational axis.

  • Publication number: 20220024516
Abstract: A torque sensor unit measures torque introduced into an upper steering shaft of a motor vehicle. The upper steering shaft can be connected to a lower steering shaft via a torsion bar. The torque sensor unit may have two inductive sensors, where a first inductive sensor can be connected to the upper steering shaft to measure the rotary position of the upper steering shaft and a second inductive sensor can be connected to the lower steering shaft to measure the rotary position of the lower steering shaft. An evaluation unit may be designed to process the signals of the two inductive sensors and to calculate the torque therefrom by means of the angle difference between the rotary positions of the two steering shafts.

  • Publication number: 20210291890
Abstract: The invention relates to a steering column (1) for a motor vehicle, comprising a supporting unit (6) which can be connected to the chassis of the motor vehicle (6) and an actuating unit, which is mounted on the supporting unit and which supports a steering shaft (2) for rotation, wherein the position of the actuating unit can be adjusted in relation to the supporting unit, wherein the steering column (1) has a position detection device for determining the position of the actuating unit relative to the supporting unit (6).

  • Patent number: 10647353
Abstract: A device and a method may be used to determine a highly accurate absolute angle of rotation Xt of the rotational position of a rotatably supported steering shaft. Rotation of a rotor of an electric motor with a gearing with a gearing transmission factor K for power assistance may be coupled into rotation of the steering shaft. A rotational position of rotation of the rotor can be measured by means of a rotor position sensor and by using a number of revolutions of the rotor that have occurred. This value is used directly to determine the highly accurate absolute angle of rotation Xt of the steering shaft. Calibration methods involve determining initial values from which the counting of revolutions or the calculations occur.

  • Publication number: 20170328737
Abstract: A transducer assembly for a torque and/or angle sensor may comprise a pipe section-shaped magnet ring that is secured to a carrier sleeve via an intermediate element. The intermediate element and the magnet ring may be integrally bonded to one another via joining surfaces directed against one another. The intermediate element may be formed of a plastic at least in a region of its joining surface. To provide a transducer assembly that can be more easily produced and assembled with high reliability, the magnet ring may be formed as a plastic-bonded magnet from a plastic material filled with magnetic particles, which is integrally bonded to the plastic of the intermediate element.
