  • Publication number: 20200285303
Abstract: A cognitive display interface operatively couples to a display device and provides augmentation data for display to a user within a restricted access space based on user input. The interface receives user input and context-related data, with the user providing the user input within the space, and one or more sensors providing the context-related data. The interface analyzes the context-related sensor data to determine a location and an orientation of the user within the space at the time of providing the user input, resolves context of the user input based, at least in part, on the determined location and orientation of the user within the space, and determines a search query from the input and the resolved context. A response to the search query is generated based, at least in part, on searching a database(s), and the interface provides a response as augmentation data for rendering on the display device.

  • Publication number: 20200279283
Abstract: A system and method utilizing a mass user gaze fixation behavior with respect to products and product racks (using a camera-based inputs and gaze-tracking algorithms) and a financial profitability of each product/product type; generates gaze-based heat maps for indicating blind spots and eye gaze points at different positions of the racks/shelves and indicating product placement positions on the heat map; and advises product placement in the retail store for optimizing financial profitability by performing an iterative refinement of product placements over a period for the product/similar products. The system translates mass eye gaze of retail store customers into financial profitability via product placement optimization, and iteratively runs a method to optimize product placements, and generate gaze-based heat maps and perform blind spot analysis for avoiding product placements at certain locations and placing products at other locations, e.g., by running a decision module on consumer gaze pattern data.

  • Patent number: 10739864
Abstract: A gesture to speech conversion device may receive indications of user gestures via at least one sensor, the indications identifying movement in three dimensions. A 2-dimensional (2D) plane on which a beginning of the movement and an end of the movement is substantially planar and a third dimension orthogonal to the 2D plane may be determined. A change of the movement in a direction of the third dimension in a course of the movement occurring on the 2D plane is detected. The change of the movement in the third dimension is mapped to an emphasis in the movement. The movement is transformed into speech with emphasis on a part of the speech corresponding to a part of the movement having the detected change.

  • Patent number: 10726465
Abstract: A method inputs to a data processing system biometric data (e.g., eye movement data) generated for a user when the user selects displayed items for purchase. The method further includes operating the system to determine a set of items having at least one member item, not specifically selected to purchase by the user, as being of potential interest to the user when the user makes a final purchase decision; evolving items that are members of the set of items in response to continued reception of the biometric data; and presenting member items from the set of items to the user for consideration to purchase prior to the user making the final purchase decision. The user selected item to purchase is placed into a primary shopping cart and the items from the set of items are placed into a secondary shopping cart for display to the user at checkout time.
