  • Publication number: 20060173119
Abstract: A rubber composition having a low specific gravity and a reduced hysteresis loss or loss tangent, and a tire using the rubber composition having low-exothermic property, excellent durability, and rolling resistance are provided. A rubber composition comprising 100 parts by mass of a rubber component and 0.1 to 10 parts by mass of fullerenes, wherein the fullerenes are produced by a combustion method, and comprise at least one selected from (1) a fullerene having a closed basket structure represented by C2n (n being an integer of 30 or greater); (2) a soot including fullerenes generated in a process of producing fullerenes obtained by the combustion method; and (3) a residue generated by extraction of fullerenes from the soot; and the tire manufactured by using the rubber composition as a rubber member.

  • Publication number: 20050175829
Abstract: The present invention provides a rubber composition comprising 100 parts by mass of a rubber and 0.1 to 100 parts by mass of carbon fibers as a filler which are produced by a vapor phase epitaxial growth method and respectively include one or more bottomless cup-shaped carbon network layers, wherein the respective carbon network layer in the form of stacked cups have a large diameter portion whose end face is exposed to a periphery of the carbon fiber. The rubber composition and tire of the present invention have a high thermal conductivity and are excellent in other properties such as mechanical properties.

  • Patent number: 6379786
Abstract: A ligneous finishing material including a base plate, a sheet formed from a sheet base impregnated with a thermosetting resin and attached to the base plate, and a decorative sheet impregnable with a resin and attached to the sheet. The base plate, sheet and decorative sheet are laminated on each other by a hot-press process. The thermosetting resin is preferably a phenol resin having a fluidity in a pre-pregnated state of 3% to 50%. The ligneous finishing material is inexpensive and highly resistant to surface damaging, and can be used as a surface facing material for floors, etc., and as a facing material for fittings and furnishings.

  • Patent number: 5700874
Abstract: A polymer modified with an alkoxysilane is prepared by a reaction forming a bond between an alkoxysilane compound represented by General Formula (I) and at least one of end parts of a conjugated diene/vinylaromatic hydrocarbon copolymer obtained by copolymerization of a conjugated diene and a vinylaromatic hydrocarbon using a lithium compound as an initiator. An adhesive composition contains 3% by weight or more of the polymer modified with an alkoxysilane. The polymer is used for an adhesive composition, can be prepared by a simple process, has excellent adhesive property and durability so that an additive such as a tackifier is not always required, and has essentially enhanced adhesive property to inorganic materials, in particular. The adhesive composition in which the polymer is used has excellent adhesive property and durability.
