  • Publication number: 20240027609
Abstract: A radar receiver is operable to capture and process reflections from a nearby target, of relatively large size. Phase history data is extracted from the received reflection signal, the phase history data being transformed into range migration compensated data. The range migration compensated data is then processed, with reference to Doppler migration to produce Doppler migration compensated data. The Doppler migration compensated data is then mapped into a Cartesian reference frame.

  • Patent number: 11784722
Abstract: A communication system includes a first communication gateway arranged proximate to a surface of a body of water and an underwater communication gateway. The underwater communication gateway is configured to receive data from a first underwater communication device using radio frequencies and the ethernet data link layer protocol, to convert the data received from the first underwater communication device from the ethernet data link layer protocol to the second data link layer protocol, and to transmit, using optical radiation and the second data link layer protocol, the data converted by the underwater communication gateway to the first communication gateway. The first communication gateway is configured to convert the data transmitted by the underwater communication gateway from the second data link layer protocol to the ethernet data link layer protocol, and to transmit, using the ethernet data link layer protocol, the data converted by the first communication device to a further communication device.

  • Publication number: 20220373674
Abstract: The present application presents various techniques for improving the performance of range tracking motion compensation method for high resolution radar imaging. Three improved techniques are described herein: improved cross-correlation alignment through updates to the reference range profile to follow the target's changing illumination angle; improved cross-correlation alignment through local peak boosting; and, improved polynomial smoothing through subdivision into multiple windows.

  • Publication number: 20210318125
Abstract: A method for autonomous navigating along a given path includes storing at an autonomous navigation system locations associated with a given path; determining a current location of a user; calculating plural positions adjacent to the current location of the user; selecting one position of the plural positions that has a smallest error when compared to the locations associated with the given path; and instructing the user to move to the selected position.

  • Patent number: 11018905
Abstract: Signal cancellation is implemented by way of a non-linear filter model feeding to an FIR channel. Parameters defining each element are iteratively established, first by initially estimating the FIR channel then jointly estimating the two elements.

  • Patent number: 9774354
Abstract: Various examples of methods and systems are provided for generation of correlated finite alphabet waveforms using Gaussian random variables in, e.g., radar and communication applications. In one example, a method includes mapping an input signal comprising Gaussian random variables (RVs) onto finite-alphabet non-constant-envelope (FANCE) symbols using a predetermined mapping function, and transmitting FANCE waveforms through a uniform linear array of antenna elements to obtain a corresponding beampattern. The FANCE waveforms can be based upon the mapping of the Gaussian RVs onto the FANCE symbols. In another example, a system includes a memory unit that can store a plurality of digital bit streams corresponding to FANCE symbols and a front end unit that can transmit FANCE waveforms through a uniform linear array of antenna elements to obtain a corresponding beampattern. The system can include a processing unit that can encode the input signal and/or determine the mapping function.
