Abstract: A rotary electric apparatus having a stator and a rotor is provided. The rotor includes a rotor core provided with slots extending in an axial direction of the rotor core, and rotor bars arranged in the slots, respectively. The slot and the rotor bar include, in a transverse cross section which is cut perpendicular to a rotation shaft of the rotor, a plurality of convex portions or a plurality of concave portions in at least one of both end faces in a circumferential direction, respectively. The rotor core may further include an outer edge portion extending in the circumferential direction so that it exposes a radially outer portion of the slot and covers the rest.
