  • Patent number: 4593835
Abstract: A cryogenic liquefied pump system which includes a pump having a drive motor, bearings, a drive shaft, and an impeller adapted to be disposed in a vessel storing a cryogenic liquid. An outer insulating tank is mounted in the vessel and an inner insulating tank is mounted inside the outer insulating tank, with a vacuum layer being interposed between the inner and outer insulating tanks. An inner side of the inner insulated tank, in which the motor and bearings are arranged, is maintained at a room temperature, with a tip portion of the inner insulating tank being formed into an outer case extending into a cryogenic region outside of the outer insulated tank.

  • Patent number: 4432216
Abstract: A split type cryogenic cooling apparatus comprising a refrigerator which permits a working gas of a high pressure and an operating temperature to generate cold heat, a cryostat accommodating a vessel containing liquefied fraction of the working gas together with an object to be cooled and a plurality of shield plates surrounding the vessel and maintained at respective temperature levels, and a communicating pipe system providing a communication between the refrigerator and the cryostat and having a vacuum heat insulation. Two or more stages of heat exchangers are disposed in the cryostat with their colder ends held in thermal contact with the shield plates and the vessel of temperature levels corresponding thereto, to thereby suppress an introduction of external heat into the cryostat.

  • Patent number: 4154673
Abstract: Waste water issued from a wet type desulfurization apparatus and containing thionic acid ions is introduced into ion-exchange towers filled with weak-basic anion-exchange which has to effect anion exchange therein. The weak-basic anion-exchange resin which has adsorbed the thionic acid ions is desorbed by contacting an alkaline solution. The thionic acid ions included in the desorbing solution are decomposed by heating them in the presence of acid. A decomposed solution is issued out of the system after its neutralization.

  • Patent number: 4080289
Abstract: A system is provided for separating waste water or solution into a permea solution and a concentrated solution by feeding the waste water or solution to a reverse osmosis apparatus using a membrane.A chemical pretreating apparatus is provided to prevent hard scales contained in the waste water or solution from precipitation during the concentration in the reverse osmosis apparatus using the membrane. An apparatus for charging sponge balls is further provided to mechanically remove suspended solids and other suspended matters, that is, soft scales when deposited on the surface of membrane. The sponge balls are desirably recyclically used.

  • Patent number: 4028237
Abstract: There are disclosed methods for removing fluorine values from fluorine-containing waste waters, in which aluminum ions are added to fluorine-containing waste water to convert fluorine to hydroxyfluoride complexes, adding phosphoric acid or phosphate and calcium compound are added to form fluoride apatite with residual fluorine in the waste water, and the hydroxy-fluoride complex and fluoride apatite are removed from the waste water.
