Patent number: 7878533Abstract: There is provided an airbag device for allowing a holding member to firmly hold an outer circumference part and a peripheral edge part of an airbag during the airbag assembling work and to reduce the assembling work time. The airbag device comprising a holding member (14) for holding an airbag (10) in a state as folded and contained therein, and pressing down a side face of the airbag (10) on the outer circumference thereof. The holding member (14) is made of a woven cloth, and an anticipated rupture part (14k) to be ruptured by a gas generated from an inflator (30) is formed at the position corresponding to the part of the airbag (10), inflating in the initial stage of the expansion thereof.Type: GrantFiled: May 9, 2006Date of Patent: February 1, 2011Assignee: Ashimori Industry Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yoshio Shimazaki, Seiichiro Kamura, Kou Sasaki, Hiroyuki Taniyama

Patent number: 7832761Abstract: The invention improves efficiency in a work for assembling an airbag device (10) with an airbag cover (16). A peripheral edge of the inflator attachment opening of the airbag (10) is secured to a cushion ring (22), the airbag (10) integrally connected to the tip and a rear end of the tubular tether belt (11a) is extended to its full and then pulled back thereby folding back the airbag (10) around the tubular tether belt (11a) and folding the tubular tether belt (11a) and the airbag (10) while being pulled back. Then, the tip of the tubular folded tether belt (11a) is secured to a central part of the back side of the airbag cover (16) for containing the airbag (10) therein.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 2006Date of Patent: November 16, 2010Assignee: Ashimori Industry Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yoshio Shimazaki, Seiichiro Kamura, Kou Sasaki

Patent number: 7748731Abstract: In an airbag device, a decorative member is prevented from being scattered with a simple structure at the time of expansion of an airbag. That is, a concave part of the airbag cover (50) on which the decorative member is mounted is connected to an unmoved connection member while freely separable from other portions at the time of expansion of an airbag. To that end, there are formed, on the inner faces of the airbag cover (50), a circular tear line Lc for partitioning the concave part (52) and a plurality of tear lines L1˜4 extending outward from the tear line Lc in the radial direction thereof for forming each of opening pieces (50a). Further, attachment pieces (50b) of respective opening pieces (50a) are fastened to plastic deformable attachment parts of a base plate by screws. With this structure, the concave part of the airbag cover can be immovably held at the time of spread of the airbag.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2008Date of Patent: July 6, 2010Assignee: Ashimori Industry Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hiroyuki Taniyama, Naoki Yamaji, Seiichiro Kamura, Hidetaka Azuma, Kou Sasaki

Patent number: 7637528Abstract: There is provided an airbag device comprising electrical equipment disposed at the central part of a steering wheel, capable of connecting a harness to the electrical equipment while using the steering shaft, the inflator, and so forth, commonly in use, thereby alleviating work for manufacturing intricate components, and achieving reduction in component cost. The airbag device comprises an airbag cover (16) for housing an airbag (10) folded substantially at the central part of a steering wheel (50R), and electrical equipment (M) disposed at a recessed part (16a) of the airbag cover (16), wherein a backside of the recessed part (16a) of the airbag cover (16) is covered with a fixed end portion of a tubular tether belt (11a) for constraining a distance up to which the airbag undergoes inflation and expansion, and a harness (26) is inserted into a harness insertion hole (11ah?) provided at the fixed end portion, the harness being connected to an electrode member of the electrical equipment (M).Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 2006Date of Patent: December 29, 2009Assignee: Ashimori Industry Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yoshio Shimazaki, Seiichiro Kamura, Kou Sasaki
