  • Patent number: 6568159
Abstract: With a conventional baling machine, for tying an article resting on a pallet with a band, the article resting on the pallet is required to be placed in a frame of an arch guide. To solve this problem, the present invention provides a baling machine including a main body having a band feeding mechanism, a band bonding mechanism, and a band cutting mechanism; a vertical table (3) to be aligned with an article resting on a pallet; a band guide (7) provided to be drawn out from under the vertical table (3) in a horizontal direction; a support mechanism for supporting the band guide (7) inside the main body allowing it to slide; and wheels (17) provided to the main body, wherein the band guide (7) slides above the ground contact face of the wheels (17).

  • Patent number: 5442899
Abstract: A band charging apparatus for a packing machine capable of carrying out charging of a band while effectively preventing jamming of the band. In the packing machine, a band unwound from a reel is fed to a pool box by means of the band charging apparatus, to thereby be temporarily stored in the pool box. Then, the band is fed to a circumference of a package by means of a band feeding and tightening apparatus. Thereafter, the band is drawn back by means of the band feeding and tightening apparatus while a distal end of the band is kept gripped, resulting in being tightly wound on the package. The band charging apparatus includes a pool feed roller for carrying out feeding of the band to the pool box and a pool touch roller arranged so as to access to the pool feed roller through the band. Also, the band charging apparatus includes guide plates for defining a band guide path in the pool box when the band is set for charging of the band in the band feeding and tightening apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5414980
Abstract: A packing apparatus capable of permitting drawing-out of a band from a band guide arch structure to be regularly accomplished in order, to thereby improve durability of the apparatus and prevent damage to the band. Flaps each are formed of a lightweight metal material into an L-shape in section, and are provided at one edge thereof with a flange and formed at a portion thereof in proximity to the other edge thereof with a pair of threaded holes. The flaps are arranged in a manner to be contiguous to each other in order in such a manner that a forward end of each of the flaps defined in a direction of delivery of the band is positioned under a rearward end of the flap forwardly adjacent thereto while aligning threaded holes of the adjacent flaps with each other. Also, the flaps which are arranged at each of corner sections of a band way are curvedly connected to each other while forming an overlapped portion of an acute fan shape between each adjacent two flaps.

  • Patent number: 5379576
Abstract: A band feeding and tightening apparatus for a packing machine capable of effectively preventing jamming of a band in band passages during feeding and tightening of the band. A feed touch roller is pressedly contacted through the band with a feed roller rotated at a high speed, to thereby feed the band to a package. When a distal end of the band is gripped, a return touch roller is pressedly contacted through the band with a return roller rotated at a high speed, to thereby draw back the band, resulting in the band being wound around the package. Then, a tension touch roller is pressedly contacted through the band with a tension roller, to thereby tighten the band. Subsequently, an overlapped portion of the band is bonded by welding and a portion of the band wound around the package is cut from the remaining part of the band. A movable guide plate is moved in association with pressing of the feed touch roller to reduce a gap of a feed chute.

  • Patent number: 4781110
Abstract: An arch guide for a strapping machine comprises corner sections interconnected by linear sections. Each of those sections includes inner and outer peripheral portions disposed, respectively, closer to and farther from a center of the guide. The inner and outer portions form a guide passage for the band, the passage being open at a side facing a guide plate. The open side of the arch guide is yieldably urged against the guide plate to close the open side. The inner portion extends toward the guide plate at an inwardly directed inclination to facilitate movement of the arch guide away from the guide plate when the band is being withdrawn from the passage. A guide extends from the leading end of a linear section into a trailing end of a corner section for directing an advancing band toward the outer portion of the corner section.
