  • Publication number: 20040202007
Abstract: A plurality of lighting units using light emitting diodes as light sources is accommodated in a lamp housing in such a state as to be supported on a common metallic support member provided tiltably. When a part or all of the lighting units are turned on, the light emitting diodes generate heat with a light emission. These light emitting diodes are supported on the common metallic support member. Also in the case in which any of the lighting units is turned on, therefore, the heat generated by the light emitting diodes is moved to the metallic support member having a large heat capacity through boards and light source support blocks by a heat conducting function. Consequently, a rise in the temperatures of the light emitting diodes can be suppressed.

  • Publication number: 20040168998
Abstract: In energy absorbing structures in an entire train, a compression amount at an interface between cars at an end portion of a train is reduced and compression at an interface between cars at a center portion of the train is facilitated. In the structure, a plurality of cars (A1 to A12) are coupled to one another through couplers (B1 to B11), and energy absorbing structures (S12 to S42, S82 to S122) are provided between cars. An average compressive load corresponding to a value obtained by dividing an energy absorption amount of the energy absorbing structure by a maximum compression amount of the energy absorbing structures (S12 to S42, S82 to S122) is set smaller at an interface between cars at a center portion of the train than at an interface between cars on an outer side of the train (closer to an end portion).

  • Publication number: 20040145215
Abstract: A side structure (21) included in a railroad car is provided with an window opening (22), and door openings (23, 24) formed on the longitudinally opposite sides of the window opening (22), respectively. The side structure (21) excluding parts corresponding to the window opening (22) and the door openings (23, 24) are divided into a plurality of sections. A first section (S1)1 extends vertically between the window opening (22) and the door opening (23), a second section (S12) extends vertically between the window opening (22) and the door opening (24), and a third section (S13) of a width substantially equal to that of the window opening (22) extends under the window opening (22). Each of the sections has a core (2) attached to the inner surface of an outer panel (1), and rim members (3) having a substantially Z-shaped cross section and surrounding the core (2). An inner panel (4) is attached to the core (2) and the rim members (3) so as to cover the inner surface of the core (2).

  • Publication number: 20040042070
Abstract: An infrared light radiating lamp in which red light emitted from a front lens is diluted so as to become inconspicuous by emitting a small amount of visible light from a rim portion of a convex lens so that the lamp will not be mistaken for a tail lamp or a stop lamp and without causing glare. A vehicular infrared light radiating lamp is provided with a light source unit including a convex lens mounted via a lens holder forward of a reflector in which a light source is mounted. An infrared light transmitting film is provided on the rear surface of the convex lens. An infrared light transmitting film-free region is provided on the outer periphery of the infrared light transmitting film such that white visible light for diluting the red light emitted from the convex lens is emitted from the rim portion of the convex lens.
