    Abstract: A dental treating apparatus according to the present invention includes: a hand piece; a head unit; a driving unit; a resistor for load detection; a load comparing unit; and a control unit. The hand piece drivably holds a cutting tool on the head unit. The driving unit drives the cutting tool in a normal rotation direction or in a reverse rotation direction. The resistor for load detection detects a load applied to the cutting tool. The load comparing unit compares the detected load and a reference load each time driving for rotating the cutting tool in the reverse rotation direction by a predetermined rotation angle is performed. The control unit controls the driving unit based on a result of comparison by the load comparing unit.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to a dental treating apparatus including: a hand piece; a power source (micro motor); a driving unit (motor driver); and a controller. The driving unit drives the cutting tool so as to be switchable between first driving in which the cutting tool is driven clockwise and second driving in which the cutting tool is driven counterclockwise. When a rotation direction in which the cutting tool cuts an object to be cut is defined as normal rotation and a rotation direction opposite to the normal rotation is defined as reverse rotation, the controller sets the first driving as driving for the normal rotation when a first cutting tool rotated clockwise is held on the head unit, and sets the second driving as the driving for the normal rotation when a second cutting tool rotated counterclockwise is held on the head unit.

The joining tool includes a short-column shaped shoulder and a pin protruded downwardly along the axis from a central portion of a lower face of the shoulder at a tip end portion thereof. Two works such as aluminum alloy plates are lapped and placed on a receiving member. When the joining tool is rotated and moved downwardly, a joint spot of the works is heated and softened due to friction heat generated by the rotating pin. Thereby, plastic flow occurs in the vicinity of the joint spot. The vicinity of the joint spot is stirred and the works are fused at the joint spot. Thus, the works are spot-joined.
