  • Publication number: 20060007096
Abstract: A liquid-crystal-panel drive, driving method and its program, and a medium capable of preventing unevenness on a display face from occurring after turning off a power supply in a liquid crystal display apparatus using OCB mode liquid crystal. A liquid crystal display apparatus has a liquid crystal layer using OCB mode liquid crystal, a driver applying a voltage to the liquid crystal layer, a liquid-crystal driving power supply supplying power to the driver, and a switch outputting an on/off signal to the driver. When the switch outputs an off signal, the driver applies a predetermined voltage that can be applied to each pixel of the liquid crystal layer for a predetermined time, and after the elapse of the predetermined time, stops the supply of power to the driver from the liquid-crystal driving power supply.

  • Publication number: 20050024316
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a signal conversion part (101), a drive pulse generation part (102), a source driver (103), a gate driver (1704), and a multiplexer part (1706). In addition, between the source driver (103) and a display region part (1705) there is provided an intersection part (204) where, when source lines (S1, S2, S3, S4, . . . ) in the display region part are divided into groups each including four source lines, lines that correspond to two source lines (S2 and S3) located the second and third from an end in each group intersect each other. With the liquid crystal display device using the multiplexer part for switching a plurality of source lines in a time-sharing manner, the degradation of the display quality of pixels caused by, for example, an insufficient writing capability to the pixels is improved.

  • Publication number: 20030090449
Abstract: A signal converting section 401 increases a transfer rate of an input image signal to be supplied to a liquid crystal panel 405 and, at the same time, also inserts a non-image signal for applying a predetermined voltage to liquid-crystal cells in space of the input image signal and supplies it as a picture-element signal to a source driver 403. To each picture cell, an input image signal and a non-image signal are sequentially written with positive or negative polarity. For all picture elements, after the input image signal is written, the non-image signal equal in polarity to the input image signal is always written. Furthermore, after the non-image signal is written, an image signal opposite in polarity to the non-image signal is always written. Thus, when an image is displayed on the liquid crystal panel in OCB mode, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of back transition and carry out image display evenly.

  • Patent number: 5523845
Abstract: The first branch 1a of the optical fiber 1 is connected to the light source 2, and the second branch 1b is connected to the optical measuring unit 3. A taper-shaped tip member 8 is fitted to a tip end of the optical fiber unit 1 with the use of a jig member 4. The inner hollow space 7 in the tip member 8 is connected with the air suction device 11, through the gap 5 formed between the optical fiber unit 1 and the jig member 4 and the air suction tube 10. The air suction device 11 discharges air from the inner hollow space 7 to suck liquid through the through-hole 6 into the inner hollow space. The air suction device 11 is controlled by the controller 12. Because the optical fiber unit can directly irradiate liquid with light, measurement can be performed with high sensitivity. The optical fiber unit is prevented from contamination.

  • Patent number: 4899924
Abstract: The automatic soldering method and related device of this invention can perform both spot soldering and continuous soldering at any soldering position through the application of heat to both the soldering spot and the string solder, using as a heating means, a light beam such as a laser beam. This thus avoids the use of a soldering iron as a heating means and further, the soldering spot is not damaged since heat can be applied to the spot and string solder by a "non-contact" means.

  • Patent number: 4860427
Abstract: Apparatus for cutting a lead wire (7) from a supply wire (4) and for removing insulation covering portions (5) from the opposite ends of the lead wire (7) includes a pair of pinch rollers (13), a pair of opposed cutters (14), and a gripping device (15). The cutters (14) include wire cutting sections adapted to be moved into butt contact with each other, and insulation covering cutting sections (20) which will only sever the insulation covering without cutting through the entire wire. In order to form the lead wire (7) and remove the insulation covering portions (5) from opposite ends of the lead wire (7), the pinch rollers (13) initially advance the supply wire (4) such that a predetermined portion of the free end of the supply wire (4) extends beyond the cutters (14) as seen in FIG. 5(A).
