  • Patent number: 4762437
Abstract: A fastener snaps through aligned apertures in two work pieces. The shape of the aperture in the first work piece is such that the fastener cannot be withdrawn from it. However, the aperture in the second work piece is so shaped that the fastener can be rotated for removal of the fastener from the second work piece. The work pieces thereby can be separated, but the fastener remains in substantially permanent association with the first work piece for reuse of the work piece and the fastener.

  • Patent number: 4506419
Abstract: A clip comprises a male member and a female socket both molded of plastics. The male member is adapted to be detachably fastened to a substrate such as a panel of an automobile body and the female socket is adapted to accommodate the male member rotatably therein and to be fastened to a part such as a radiator grille. Union of the substrate and the part accomplished by the use of this clip can be easily broken by causing the male member to be rotated relative to the female socket with a tool such as a screw driver.

  • Patent number: 4293260
Abstract: In a screw grommet of the type composed of a head portion, a barrel portion extended downwardly from the head portion, and a continuous axial cavity through the head portion and the barrel portion and possessed of an inside diameter smaller than the diameter of screw means destined to be driven into the cavity, the barrel portion is provided thereon with angular portions which are adapted to match to the corners in a polygonal fitting hole punched in a panel for insertion of the grommet and are connected through the medium of hinges to the remaining part of the barrel portion. In the screw grommet, the force generated by the screw means being driven into the axial cavity inside the barrel portion causes the angular portions of the barrel portion to be outwardly expanded and pressed against the corners of the fitting hole without being rotated with the screw means, enabling the grommet to be secured strongly to the panel.
