  • Publication number: 20230249618
Abstract: A luminance determining unit determines a luminance distribution of an exterior circumstantial image in a line-of-sight direction of a driver, and a luminance changing unit determines a bright region of this luminance distribution. Further, the luminance changing unit determines a luminance after the change in a peripheral region of this bright region. A virtual-image creating unit creates a virtual image based on the determined luminance, and a display processing unit displays this virtual image on a display unit. In this manner, since a display system displays the virtual image for use in increasing the luminance in periphery of the bright region, the feeling of the brightness for the driver can be moderated, and therefore, the visual recognition can be improved. That is, the display system can output the virtual image depending on the circumstances.

  • Patent number: 11648878
Abstract: A luminance determining unit 14 determines a luminance distribution of an exterior circumstantial image in a line-of-sight direction of a driver 300, and a luminance changing unit 15 determines a bright region 301 of this luminance distribution. Further, the luminance changing unit 15 determines a luminance after the change in a peripheral region 302 of this bright region 301. A virtual-image creating unit 16A creates a virtual image based on the determined luminance, and a display processing unit 17 displays this virtual image on a display unit 200. In this manner, since a display system 1A displays the virtual image for use in increasing the luminance in periphery of the bright region 301, the feeling of the brightness for the driver 300 can be moderated, and therefore, the visual recognition can be improved. That is, the display system 1A can output the virtual image depending on the circumstances.

  • Patent number: 11143872
Abstract: Both uniformity of brightness and uniformity of color of the outside world are seen via a waveguide. A video image is reflected by a partial reflection surface inside the waveguide that includes an incident surface on which video image light is incident, first and second internal reflection surfaces that propagate the video image light incident from the incident surface while totally reflecting the video image light, and are substantially parallel to each other. A plurality of partial reflection surfaces that reflect a part of the video image light propagating by being totally reflected by the first and second internal reflection surfaces, output the part of the video image light as output light from the first internal reflection surface to the outside of the waveguide, and transmit the part of the video image light being incident, and are disposed substantially parallel to each other inside the waveguide.

  • Patent number: 10942436
Abstract: The reflection surface of a DMD is divided into a first area and a second area, causing the first area to display images while appropriately controlling the on and off states of the micromirrors within the second area on the basis of a prescribed control logic according to the on and off states of the micromirrors within the first area. Further, the DMD off-state light created in the first and second areas is caused to recurse to the DMD via a prescribed recycle optical system for the DMD off-state light, and only the second area in the reflection surface is intensively irradiated along a prescribed irradiation direction, thereby efficiently converting the DMD off-state light to the effective projection light.
