  • Patent number: 7140458
Abstract: A battery arrangement structure for a vehicle including a motor for transmitting drive force to a drive wheel, a battery for supplying electrical power to the motor, and a storage box. The motor is arranged on one side of a vehicle center line oriented in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle and the battery is arranged on an opposite side of the vehicle center line and around the storage box. A battery mounting structure for a vehicle having a composite battery that includes a plurality of electric cells stored in a battery case, and the battery case being covered from a side cover of an outer side part of a vehicle body cover. The composite battery is formed from a plurality of electrical cells arranged close together in a single row. The battery case includes an outer case half body with an outer shape that runs along an inner surface shape of the side cover.

  • Patent number: 6718929
Abstract: In an internal combustion engine provided with a decompression mechanism, a decompression cam that is rotatable with respect to a camshaft between first and second stop positions has a cam profile so that an exhaust valve is opened at the first stop position and is closed at the second stop position. The decompression cam is rotated in the reverse direction to the first stop position by rotating a crankshaft in the reverse direction by an electric motor at startup (position P1). Only the crankshaft is then rotated in the reverse direction (position p3), and the decompression cam is rotated in the normal direction by rotating the crankshaft in the normal direction by the electric motor.

  • Patent number: 5395293
Abstract: To smoothly perform a shift change by the actuator with a simple structure, a drive motor M as a running drive source is connected with a drive motor electronic motor unit 103 through a FET driver 107. A change motor 61 for driving a shift drum 62 is connected with a change motor electronic control unit 111 through a FET driver 112. When a drive motor electronic control unit 103 outputs the speed change signal on the basis of the detection signal of an accelerator opening sensor 106 and a drive motor rotational speed sensor 104, the output of the driver motor M is temporarily reduced or stopped to release the meshing surface pressure of the gear trains of the transmission T, and during the period thereof, a shift drum 62 is driven by the change motor 61 for performing the shift change. After completion of the shift change, the output of the drive motor M is smoothly increased.

  • Patent number: 5241478
Abstract: The current ignition delay angle is increased gradually until the delay angle reaches a maximum delay angle stored in a maximum delay angle storage unit when the failure of a traction control unit is detected by a failure detecting member while a switching member is set so as to select the output of a traction control mode ignition angle calculating device. A failure control mode ignition angle calculating device calculates an ignition angle on the basis of the increased delay angle and a standard ignition angle. In case failure occurs in the traction control system during traction control operation, ignition delay angle is increased gradually to reduce the running speed of the vehicle gradually regardless of the opening of the throttle valve. Accordingly, the vehicle is not subjected to shocks attributable to the change of control mode when failure occurs in the traction control system.
