  • Patent number: 6799007
Abstract: A guide roller unit, provided for use in an electrophotographic printer, includes a guide roller and a cleaning blade. For guiding printing paper, the guide roller is provided with a contact surface that comes into contact with a surface of the printing paper on which an unfixed toner image is produced. The cleaning blade comes into contact with the contact surface of the guide roller for removing toner on the roller. The contact surface of the guide roller is provided with a blade contact portion, such as a projection or groove, for causing the cleaning blade to vibrate.

  • Patent number: 6336023
Abstract: An electrophotographic printer includes a photosensitive drum, a developing unit, an image transfer unit, and pre-transfer discharges arranged between the developing unit and the image transfer unit. The pre-transfer discharging means is arranged to progressively reduce the absolute value of the electric potential of a given point in the surface of the photosensitive drum. The reduction of the electric potential is performed in a non-abrupt manner through two or more steps as the given point is moved from the developing unit to the image transfer unit.

  • Patent number: 6176411
Abstract: A paper transfer apparatus is provided which is incorporated in an electrophotographic printer having a photosensitive drum for printing on elongated paper. The paper transfer apparatus serves to transfer the elongated paper along a transfer path extending via the photosensitive drum. The paper transfer apparatus includes a discharge or scuff roller for pulling the elongated paper in a transferring direction. The discharge roller is spaced downstream from the photosensitive drum. The paper transfer apparatus also includes a pair of tractors for advancing the elongated paper along the transfer path. The tractors are spaced upstream from the photosensitive drum. Each of the tractors is provided with a presser member supported by a tractor lid of the tractor. The presser member serves to apply friction to the elongated paper when the tractor lid is in closed position.

  • Patent number: 6066082
Abstract: A swing guide is provided under a fixed paper guide for guiding a paper sheet so as to swing through a specified angle. A movable paper guide is disposed at a paper transfer station where the paper sheet is transferred from the fixed paper guide to the swing guide. The movable swing guide swings, following the swinging movement of the swing guide and has a resistance reducing material on its inner face.

  • Patent number: 5479246
Abstract: A developing device has a recovery unit having a recovery magnet and transport device. The recovery unit can stably hold carriers recovered from a photosensitive element, without dropping the carriers, and surely transport the carriers to a predetermined recovery position, thereby effectively eliminating drawbacks due to the adhesion of carriers to the photosensitive element.
