  • Publication number: 20090000587
Abstract: A sound quality control apparatus includes an air intake duct defining a suction passage, through which air is supplied to an engine, and having a double tube part, and an air cleaner that filters the air flowing through the suction passage. The double tube part includes an outer pipe and an inner pipe disposed in the outer pipe. The inner pipe defines a communicating passage communicating with the suction passage. The outer pipe and the inner pipe define a resonant chamber therebetween. The outer pipe has a branch opening part that opens in a vehicle interior of an automobile, or a branch opening part that opens toward a vicinity of the vehicle interior of the automobile. • Publication number: 20080296811
Abstract: According to a method for producing a duct, a cylindrical preform, which opens at its both end portions in a longitudinal direction and has a central part, is formed. The central part is narrowed with respect to the both end portions. The central part has a smaller cross-sectional area than that of the both end portion. The preform is formed from a thermoplastic material, which increases in strength when stretched. Next, the preform is heated. Then, stretch blow molding is performed on the preform by stretching the preform in axial and radial directions thereof, such that the cross-sectional area of the central part becomes generally the same as that of the both end portion, or equal to or larger than that of the both end portion. The central part is narrowed to such an extent that it retains predetermined strength after performing the molding on the preform.

  • Publication number: 20080264719
Abstract: A silencer for attenuating a sound includes an inner duct in which gas flows, and an outer duct surrounding the inner duct with a gas layer formed between the outer duct and the inner duct. The sound is generated in one of an upstream side of the inner duct in a gas flow direction, a downstream side of the inner duct in the flow direction, and an inside of the inner duct. The inner duct includes a thin film over its entire surface. The film has a first reinforcement section formed in a direction parallel to the flow direction, and a plurality of vibrating surfaces. The film is bent at the first reinforcement section. Each combination of adjacent two of the plurality of vibrating surfaces is connected by the first reinforcement section. The first reinforcement section of the inner duct is fixed to the outer duct.

  • Patent number: 6601822
Abstract: In a magnetic driving device, a fixed core has a housing portion, in which a plunger is housed to reciprocatingly move, and an attracting portion toward which the plunger is attracted upon energizing a coil. The housing portion is provided with a ring portion, which is formed by machining an outer circumference wall thereof and whose thickness is thinner than that of a part of the housing portion adjacent to the ring portion to an extent that mechanical strength of the housing portion is not damaged. The ring portion is provided with a plurality of through-holes penetrating radially the wall thereof. A magnetic flux area of the ring portion is limited due to the thin wall and the through-holes so that magnetic resistance is enlarged.

  • Patent number: 6498416
Abstract: An electromagnetic actuator has a stator core, an armature and a coil. The stator core is formed as a seamless cylindrical tube having a thin wall as a magnetic restrictor. The thin wall has a thickness sufficient to maintain a mechanical strength of the stator core. A permanent magnet is located on an outside of the thin wall to generate a magnetic flux passing through the thin wall in the same direction as a magnetic flux generated by the coil. The thin wall is magnetically saturated with the magnetic flux generated by the permanent magnet. When the coil is energized, a magnetic flux generated by the coil gets around the saturated thin wall and passes through the armature.

  • Patent number: 6495796
Abstract: A discharging nozzle is provided in an inside space of a metal cylinder for supplying an assist gas from an inside of the metal cylinder. The gas discharging nozzle shuts a high density energy beam intruding into the inside space of the metal cylinder through a hole, so that the energy beam is prevented from being emitted to an opposite side inner surface of the metal cylinder. Dross formed during the cut-machining is drifted and swept to the outside by an assist gas flowing out from the inside space of the metal cylinder through the hole, and is blown out by the assist gas flowing on an outside surface of the metal cylinder around the hole, thereby preventing the dross from sticking to peripheral area of the hole.

  • Patent number: 6414713
Abstract: An image pickup system is provided wherein an illumining device illumines an object from above on its front side. When an image of the object is to be picked up, a moving device moves the position of the image pickup device relative to the object so as to easily pickup the image of the object. To this end, a commodity as an object is placed within an image pickup box. An image of the commodity is picked up by a camera placed outside the box. In this case, the commodity is illumined by the illumining device from above on its front side. The camera and the commodity are moved relative to each other. Thus, illumination blurs are reduced and a clear image is easily picked up.
