  • Publication number: 20090033860
Abstract: A principal object of the present invention is to provide a substrate for a liquid crystal display not undergoing mura called gravity defect because the amount of deformation in a small load region is large and having a uniformity of the panel and an adequate recovery factor against a local load. In order to achieve the aforementioned object, the present invention provides the substrate for a liquid crystal display comprises at least a transparent substrate and a columnar spacer formed on the transparent substrate. The substrate is characterized in that the amount of initial deformation A of the spacer measured by a predetermined measurement method is 0.04 ?m or more and the amount of plastic deformation B is 0.7 ?m or less.

  • Patent number: 7468776
Abstract: A liquid crystal display apparatus having a large displacement amount in a small load range, without generation of gravity mura, low temperature foaming, or the like as mentioned above, and also having a sufficient strength against a local load; and furthermore, capable of constantly producing a gap between the transparent substrates. The liquid crystal display apparatus has at least two sheets of transparent substrates, a liquid crystal layer sealed between the two sheets of transparent substrates, and a plurality of columnar spacers formed between the two sheets of transparent substrates. The displacement amount between the 80 mN to 400 mN load is in a range of 0.1 mm to 0.8 mm, and the displacement amount between the 600 mN to 950 mN load is in a range of 0.05 mm to 0.5 mm at the time of applying a load.

  • Publication number: 20080094550
Abstract: The present invention provides a color filter that makes a liquid crystal display satisfactorily reproduce halftone color by effectively reducing color shift that occurs when the color on the liquid crystal display is changed stepwise from white to black, and a liquid crystal display comprising the color filter. A color filter 10 comprises red, green, and blue color patterns 10R, 10G, 10B corresponding to the display areas that the respective pixels in a liquid crystal driving cell 20 form. In the color filter 10, the contrasts of the red, green, and blue color patterns 10R, 10G, 10B (the individual contrasts of the color patterns) are preferably in the following relationship. Specifically, it is preferred that the contrast CR of the red color pattern 10R, the contrast CG of the green color pattern 10G, and the contrast CB of the blue color pattern 10B fulfill the relationship CR<CG<CB, as well as the relationship CR:CG=1.0:1.2 to 1.0:2.5, and CR:CB=1.0:1.5 to 1.0:4.5. The CR is preferably 700 or more.

  • Publication number: 20070206303
Abstract: A color filter including: a transparent substrate; a light shielding part formed on the transparent substrate and contains at least a light shielding material and a resin; and a colored layer formed in the opening part of the light shielding part on the transparent substrate to cover a part of the light shielding part. The light shielding part has: the width of the thick film region, 85% of more of the maximum film thickness of the light shielding part and disposed in the central part of the light shielding part, in a range of 30% to 60% of the light shielding part line width; and the width of each of the thin film regions, 50% or less of the maximum film thickness of the light shielding part and disposed on the both side parts of the light shielding part, in a range of 10% to 20% of the light shielding part line width.
