    Abstract: A position detector comprising a sensor head and rod is formed to have an arc-like configuration along a rotation locus of a rotating body and an amount of movement of the sensor head along the rod is converted to an angle by dividing the movement amount by a curvature radius common between the rod and the sensor head. By doing so, the rotation angle of the rotating body is calculated.
