  • Patent number: 7525300
Abstract: A current measuring device measures the current flowing through each conductor which connects a power supply with a motor. Coreless current sensors are arranged between pairs of the conductors. Coefficients which represent a relationship between a fixed standard current flowing through a conductor and the output signal from coreless current sensors for the fixed standard current are obtained in advance from known measurements. A calculator then determines the current flowing through each conductor based upon the corresponding output signals from the coreless current sensors, the measured coefficients and formula Iu+Iv+Iw=0.

  • Patent number: 6982499
Abstract: A power converter that can be used in a vehicle equipped with an electrical motor provides power to both the electrical motor and other, auxiliary loads, such as a headlamp, that require a different voltage. The power converter includes a first DC power supply that generates a first voltage equivalent to the voltage required by the auxiliary loads and a second DC power supply, connected in series with the first DC power supply, that generates a differential voltage, where the sum of the differential voltage and the first voltage is the voltage required to drive the electrical motor. A DC-DC converter is connected to the second power supply and converts the differential voltage to the voltage required to drive the auxiliary loads.

  • Publication number: 20040105200
Abstract: An inverter apparatus includes an inverter for driving a 3-phase motor, a power supply circuit for applying direct current voltage to the inverter, a switching element mounted above and below an arm of each phase, a smoothing capacitor for protecting a voltage applied to the inverter from reaching a value equal to or larger than a predetermined value, and a control circuit for generating a control signal for control of an ON/OFF switching operation of each switching element. The control signal is generated by the control circuit such that the ON timing of each switching element of each phase can be shifted from each other.

  • Patent number: 6711037
Abstract: An inverter includes a plurality of transistors, generates a 3-phase AC voltage, and supplies it to a 3-phase AC motor. The voltage on the primary side of a transformer connected to the neutral point of the 3-phase AC motor is controlled by changing the phase difference of a drive signal of each phase supplied to the inverter through a phase difference circuit. Thus, the output voltage of the transformer can be set to a desired value by a power supply circuit with a simple configuration.

  • Patent number: 6037745
Abstract: A charging apparatus for charging batteries of automobiles includes an inverter for converting the direct current from a direct current power source into an alternating current and a transformer having a first coil and a second coil. When an alternating current from the inverter is applied to the first coil, the second coil produces an alternating voltage. A capacitor is connected between the terminals of the second coil to increase the alternating voltage produced in the second coil. A rectifier circuit rectifies the alternating voltage increased in the booster circuit into a direct current voltage and the direct current voltage is applied to the battery. Two transistors, which function as a short circuit, are provided in the rectifier circuit. When the direct current voltage from the rectifier circuit is equal to or higher than a predetermined permissible value, a drive signal from a drive circuit turns on the two transistors.
