  • Publication number: 20120245305
Abstract: To provide a method of producing a polyoxyalkylene-modified polysiloxane composition that is free of acid-mediated carbon-oxygen bond and silicon-oxygen bond cleavage, that is substantially deodorized and also does not generate odor with elapsed time, and that is therefore well suited for use in cosmetic applications, e.g., for hair cosmetics, skin cosmetics, and so forth. A production method of this invention is characterized by removing the odor-causing substance from a polyoxyalkylene-modified polysiloxane composition that has been synthesized by a hydrosilylation reaction, by subjecting the polyoxyalkylene-modified polysiloxane composition to a hydrolysis treatment in the presence of an acidic inorganic salt that is a solid at 25° C. and gives a specific pH at 25° C. in aqueous solution; for example, potassium hydrogensulfate.

  • Publication number: 20120171148
Abstract: (1) The invention provides a composition for hair that imparts to the hair such properties as moist feeling, the feel of smoothness, thick-film touch, and ease of combing. These properties are long lasting and do not disappear after repeated brushing. Furthermore, neither in a moist state during washing, nor in a dry state, the hair produces the feel of unpleasant touch. The hair treated with the composition of the invention does to become sticky after drying. (2) The shampoo compositions of the invention demonstrate superb foamability and washability. The feel of smoothness and ease of combing are not lost even after the repeated hair wash. The composition of the invention comprises a specific block copolymer of polyorganosiloxane and polyoxyalkylene used in the amount of 0.01 to 10 mass %.

  • Patent number: 7943720
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a purified product of a liquid medium-chain alkyl-modified polydimethylsiloxane that is free of a specific (unpleasant) odor and is practically odorless, the method comprising the steps of: [A] synthesizing a liquid medium-chain alkyl-modified polydimethylsiloxane by carrying out a hydrosilylation reaction between a hydrosilyl-containing polydimethylsiloxane and an ?-olefin with 4 to 18 carbon atoms; and [B] subjecting a crude product of the liquid medium-chain alkyl-modified polydimethylsiloxane obtained in preceding step [A] to an odor-removing treatment by conducting a hydrogenation reaction which is carried out in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst.

  • Patent number: 7709671
Abstract: The deodorized, polyether-modified polysiloxane composition not producing a substance giving off a foul odor, while being produced or stored, which results from hydrolysis, oxidation or the like of a by-product or unreacted material and temporarily stable, a method for producing the same, and a cosmetic containing the same, wherein a polyether-modified polysiloxane composition, synthesized by hydrosilylation in which a polyoxyalkylene having the carbon-carbon double bond at the terminal is reacted with an organohydrogen polysiloxane, is refined by treatment in the presence of a solid acid.

  • Publication number: 20040003753
Abstract: An ink for stencil printing is provided, which is improved in pigment dispersibility, free from pigment aggregation at the time of emulsification, and excellent in emulsion stability during storage. The ink comprises a water-in-oil emulsion having 10 to 50 wt % of an oil phase and 90 to 50 wt % of a water phase, wherein the oil phase contains, as a pigment, at least a copper phthalocyanine pigment treated with a specific copper phthalocyanine derivative. The treated pigment can be contained at a concentration of 0.5 wt % or more based on the total weight of the ink. It is desirable that the copper phthalocyanine pigment is treated with the specific copper phthalocyanine derivative of 0.01 to 50 wt %, preferably 2 to 20 wt % based on the weight of the pigment. The particle size of the primary particles of the pigment is preferably in a range of 40 to 360 nm.
