  • Patent number: 4347011
Abstract: A fountain pen in which the resiliency of the pen tip is continuously variable. The pen tip and core are surrounded at their mounting end by a pen core cover. A guide slot is formed in a guide portion of the cover in which is positioned a flexible tongue-shaped retaining member which arches from the slot towards the pen point. A knob extends from the mounting portion of the retaining member into a spiral groove in the inner surface of a rotatable cylindrical adjustment sleeve. Rotation of the sleeve moves the retaining member in and out to thereby adjust the resiliency of the tip.
