  • Patent number: 8511798
Abstract: A liquid discharge head may include a flow channel unit having a plurality of pressure chambers. The head may be manufactured by manufacturing an actuator unit having a piezoelectric layer which covers the pressure chambers. The actuator unit may be manufactured by forming a first electrode and a second electrode thicker than the first electrode on the actuator unit, and forming a conductive layer laminated on the first electrode. The conductive layer may deform, and the sum of the thicknesses of the conductive layer and the first electrode may be larger than the thickness of the second electrode prior to the fixing step. The head may be manufactured by positioning the actuator unit on a cavity plate, and fixing the actuator unit to the cavity plate by heating and pressurizing. The conductive layer may be deformed by the pressurizing force more than the first and the second electrode.

  • Patent number: 8393708
Abstract: A recording device may comprise a recording head comprising a discharge port configured to discharge a liquid droplet. The recording device may also comprise a head supporting member. The recording device may yet further comprise a securing member configured to secure the recording head to the head supporting member such that a positional relationship between the head supporting member and the recording head is changeable in a direction intersecting a liquid droplet discharging direction. The recording device may yet further comprise a light emitter, and a light receiver configured to receive the light from the light emitter. The recording device may yet further comprise a position detector configured to detect the positional relationship on the basis of an intensity of the light received by the light receiver. The recording device may yet further comprise an outputting unit configured to output a signal of the positional relationship.

  • Patent number: 8152984
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a nozzle plate has steps of: (e) covering a surface of a plate with a light-curable resin; (f) covering the resin with a light-shielding member having an annular light-shielding region which encloses an opening of a nozzle hole therein in a plan view; (g) curing a portion of the resin not overlapping the light-shielding region by applying light after the step of (f); (h) exposing the resin by removing the light-shielding member after the step of (g); (i) eliminating an uncured portion of the resin after the step of (h); (j) forming a water-repellent coat on surfaces of the plate using the cured resins as masks, after the steps of (d) and (i); and (k) eliminating the cured resins after the step of (j).

  • Patent number: 7860620
Abstract: An inspection apparatus includes a discrimination function determination unit which determines whether or not a discrimination function forms an area including a discrimination sample. The discrimination function is used in non-parametric one-class discrimination. The discrimination sample is discriminated into a class as a single area in an input space where learning samples are plotted.
