  • Patent number: 4069501
Abstract: A solid state video camera having a plurality of charge coupled devices having an alignment pitch with one another selected at .tau..sub.H where .tau..sub.H is the reciprocal of the sampling frequency. A light image is projected on the three charge coupled devices, respectively. Assuming that the relative positional relationship among the light images projected on the respective charge coupled devices is, as between the first and second charge coupled devices, taken as .tau..sub.12 and, as between the first and third charge coupled devices, taken as .tau..sub.13, respectively, then the relative displaced distances .tau..sub.12 and .tau..sub.13 are selected to satisfy the following equations ##EQU1## where L.sub.1, L.sub.2 and L.sub.3 represent the levels of signals which will form the luminance signal relating to the respective charge coupled devices.

  • Patent number: 4064532
Abstract: A solid state color television camera which handles a composite color video signal consisting of interlaced full field informations. The color camera employs a charge coupled device the picture elements of which are selected to be in a shifted relation by 1/2 of alignment pitch in the vertical direction between odd and even fields, and in which a color filter to be disposed between an object and the charge coupled device is arranged in its construction such that the charge coupled device is capable of supplying output video signals of the same color components between odd and even fields.

  • Patent number: 4059839
Abstract: A solid state color camera such as one-chip type CCD (charge coupled device) color camera having a color filter employed in association with the CCD chip and arranged so that an output signal derived from every other sequential line of scan includes only color component signals of the object being sensed.

  • Patent number: 4054906
Abstract: A solid state color camera wherein a charge coupled device is employed as an image sensor in association with a color filter which is so arranged that each of red and blue color information output signals from successive lines are out of phase. The output signals from two lines of the charge coupled device are combined to produce the luminance information of the composite color video signal without affecting side band components of both red and blue color information.

  • Patent number: 4042956
Abstract: In a solid state television camera, there are disposed a first color filter including primary color elements and complementary color elements therefor aligned alternately in the horizontal direction and a second color filter including second primary color elements and complementary color elements therefor aligned in the same manner onto sensing units of a charge coupled image sensor alternately relative to odd and even lines. The positions of respective sensing points of the sensing units are so selected that vectors of side band components of signals obtained by adding signals from successive odd and even lines are symmetrical with respect to the detecting axis of a phase detector when panchromatic light is projected on the image sensor through the first and second color filters.

  • Patent number: 4016598
Abstract: Two charge coupled devices (which will be hereinafter referred to as CCD chips) are employed in a solid state camera system wherein color filters, each consisting of horizontally extended color stripe filter elements, are disposed in front of the respective CCD chips. Object images are projected onto the respective CCD chips through the color filters such that the object image on one CCD chip is shifted by .tau..sub.H/2 (where .tau..sub.H is the alignment pitch of picture elements in the direction of horizontal scanning) relative to the object image on the other CCD chip. To read image information from the CCD chips, the read-out timing as between the two chips is different by .tau..sub.H/2 to compensating for the image displacement of the chips.

  • Patent number: 4012587
Abstract: In a solid state image sensor of the type which employs an inter-line transfer charge-coupled imaging device, the electrodes of the vertical shift registers are enlarged to extend to places which lie between image pick-up portions aligned in the vertical direction of the device. Each of the image pick-up portions comprises an image sensing area and a transfer gate. Preferably, every other image pick-up portion of a conventional CCD imaging device is removed to provide spacing between the image pick-up portions relative to the vertical direction.

  • Patent number: 3975760
Abstract: A solid-state video camera employing a plurality of image sensing means in the form of charge coupled device chips which are arranged in such a manner that the video image cast on respective chips are displaced by distance equal to .tau.H/N where .tau..sub.H is the reciprocal of the image sampling frequency, also referred to as the alignment pitch of the picture elements in the horizontal direction and N is the number of charge coupled chips. After converting the images into electrical signals, read-out timings of given picture elements of respective chips are shifted in time in accordance with the shift in distance between the images on the respective chips prior to mixing the output signals. In this way a video output signal having a wide-band width is obtained. In addition, color video information is possible by the use of color filters which may be disposed in front of the respective charge coupled chips.
