  • Publication number: 20060285179
Abstract: An image reading device includes a memory unit for storing positional information of a sensor for moving by a drive unit to read an image of a document and a control unit for controlling the drive unit to move the sensor based on the positional information stored in the memory unit. The control unit drives the drive unit by an amount of driving sufficient for an image reading unit to move in a predetermined direction to abut the stop members, controls the drive unit to move the sensor so as to detect the position mark, and updates the positional information of the memory unit to a predetermined initial value based on the detection of the position mark by the sensor. The image reading device can store data of a reference position promptly even if a photo-interrupter is not provided when the data of the reference position is not stored in a memory unit.

  • Publication number: 20060049245
Abstract: In an information processing apparatus capable of accessing a memory card connected to the information processing apparatus and a control method for the information processing apparatus, in a case where a mode for disabling data writing in the memory card is set, at a point when a memory card is connected, an operation mode set in the information processing apparatus is automatically changed to an operation mode for not performing data writing in the memory card.

  • Publication number: 20060029448
Abstract: In a state in which a special print mode (seal mode) is selected, when a user performs an operation for changeover to the sheet feeding unit set with the attribute inconsistent with the print mode, the attribute setup user interface of the sheet feeding unit selected by the changeover operation is activated, and after the attribute of the sheet feeding unit is set up, the changeover to the sheet feeding unit selected by the changeover operation is executed. Even in case a print mode inconsistent with the attribute setup state of a sheet feeding unit is used, a sheet feed changeover is allowed to be performed by an easy operation.

  • Publication number: 20050094177
Abstract: The invention is to provide an image processing apparatus in which the user can know a residual ink amount by a simple operation and which does not require a hardware such as a particular switch for displaying the residual ink amount, and a display control method for such image processing apparatus. An image processing apparatus includes mode switch means which executes switching among plural modes each having a standby state, set mode storage means which stores a set mode, display means which displays a mode set in the set mode storage means, printing means which prints data such as an image or a text, residual ink amount detection means which detects a residual ink amount, and display control means causes the display means to display the set mode and the residual ink amount detected by the ink amount detection means when the mode switch means switches the mode.

  • Publication number: 20050063012
Abstract: It is an object to provide an image processing apparatus capable of re-printing a desired sheet without any complicated operation in the case of desiring to get one more index sheet because of miswriting, etc. on the index sheet, and enabling a user to easily obtain the sheet. An image processing apparatus constructed such that a sheet code embedded with information about images described on a predetermined mark sheet is created, the mark sheet is created by use of the images stored in the image storing means and the created code, the created marks sheet is outputted, a mark on the mark sheet is read, it is judged whether the mark on the mark sheet has been read or not, and, when judging that the predetermined mark on the mark sheet has been read, the same mark sheet as the created mark sheet is re-outputted.

  • Publication number: 20050062999
Abstract: To provide a control method of an image processing apparatus capable of showing a user that a printing designation by the user exceeds the tolerance of an image processing apparatus before printing and therefore, capable of preventing unnecessary printing. When the printing designation performed by the user clearly deviates from the tolerance of the processor, it is an object of the present invention to provide an image processing apparatus for confirming whether to execute printing to the user even if the printing designation exceeds the tolerance before starting the printing, and a control method of the image processing apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20030197886
Abstract: Image processing apparatus comprising: a printing unit; a first USB interface having a plurality of logical channels for connecting with an external processing apparatus; a second USB interface compliant with the same communication standard as the first USB interface and having a plurality of logical channels that have a different configuration from the first USB interface for connecting with the printing unit; a CPU for controlling data transfer between the first USB interface and the second USB interface; and a printing unit signal controller for controlling ON/OFF of power supply to the printing unit according to a predetermined condition. When power supply is turned off by the printing unit signal controller, power supply to the printing unit is stopped. In the power-off state of the printing unit, the CPU analyzes data inputted from the first USB interface.
