  • Patent number: 5768833
Abstract: A storm shutter retainer assembly featuring a header structure incorporating an elongated retaining channel defined by front, rear, and top flanges integrally attached to one another in at least partially surrounding relation to the retaining channel and defining the boundaries thereof wherein the upper peripheral edge of a conventional metallic or like storm shutter is retained within the channel. A connecting assembly includes a connector element mounted on and extending the rear flange at a particular upwardly angled configuration so as to resist upwardly directed cantilever forces exerted on the header structure by the storm shutter during severely adverse weather conditions.

  • Patent number: 5651221
Abstract: A storm shutter assembly comprising a plurality of panels designed to be disposed in an operative position defined by overlying, covering relation to doors, windows, and like structures or openings of a building. Each panel includes an oppositely disposed longitudinal edge specifically structured, disposed and configured to provide an interlocking engagement with a correspondingly positioned longitudinal edge of a next adjacent one of the plurality of panels so as to define a substantially closed seam along a common length of the interlocked adjacent panels, wherein the closed seam is resistant to separation as well as the passage of moisture under high wind conditions therethrough.

  • Patent number: 5331727
Abstract: A method to assemble a two sided colonial grid assembly for a closure and an assembly, such as but not limited to a glass pane door or window wherein the grid structure incorporates both real and false muntin bars as well as integral and false glazing beads. The assembly is structured to allow a snap-fit type of attachment of the glazing beads into the grid assembly and in engagement with the glass panes such that the entire assembly is structured to facilitate and reduce cost of assembling and manufacturing while providing an authenticate and aesthetically pleasing appearance.

  • Patent number: 5042212
Abstract: A closure assembly preferably in the form of a glass panel door or window structure which disposed in spanning and covering relation to any type of applicable opening such as a door or window opening of a building structure and further wherein each of the top, bottom and sides of the support frame embrace the correspondingly positioned peripheral edges of the glass panel in a manner which conceals any stop element, associated with the retention of the glass panel in the support frame, so that it is not noticeable to the eye of an observer and is in an inaccessible location thereby preventing or seriously reducing the possibility of unauthorized entry by removal of the aforementioned stop structures possible with prior art closures of this type, and improving the appearance of the assembly.
