  • Publication number: 20130334898
Abstract: Alternating current power systems for powering cordless power tools are disclosed. An electrical power assembly comprises an alternating current to direct current (“AC/DC”) converter connected to a power interface adapter. The AC/DC converter receives alternating current through an electrical socket and generates direct current. A power interface adapter shaped similarly to the replacement battery packs is connected to the cordless power tools and feeds the direct current to the cordless tool. The AC/DC converter may be located within the power interface adapter or a wall-mountable electrical connector.

  • Publication number: 20130316557
Abstract: Lockable electrical connector assemblies that couple electrical connectors to prevent the electrical connectors from unintentionally disconnecting are disclosed. The electrical connector assembly has a first electrical connector, a second electrical connector, and a retention ring that has one end surrounding and able to rotate about the second electrical connector. The first electrical connector preferably has tabs that extend away from the first electrical connector. The retention ring has a second end shaped to receive and lock the tabs of the male electrical connector. To form a locked connection, a user rotates the retention ring that causes the retention ring to confine the tabs of the first electrical connector. The user continues to rotate the retention ring until retention ring is placed into a locked position.

  • Patent number: 8512069
Abstract: A low-profile flat plug electrical connector having an integrated strain relief section and an interlocking terminating end is disclosed. The flat plug electrical connector has a housing for holding the electrical cable and prongs, and a cap for covering the internal structure of the housing. The housing has an integrated strain relief section for preventing damage to the flat plug electrical connector from abrupt pulling or pushing of the electrical cords. The cap and the housing have interlocking terminating ends which are configured for preventing the cap from separating from the housing when the plug is pulled from an electrical outlet. The electrical prongs of the hot and neutral electrical wires and the ground pin are locked in place by posts protruding from the cap which urges the prong mounting tab against a mounting surface in the housing.

  • Publication number: 20120175811
Abstract: An over-molded harness including a plurality of bundled flexible electric wires, an electrical or electronic element electrically connected between at least two of the wires, and at least a portion of the bundled electrical wires having an over-molded insulative covering, whereby the electrical or electronic element is unsupported by other than primarily by the over-molded insulative covering and secondarily by the flexible electric wires, the electrical or electronic element being both precisely located and completely enclosed within the insulative covering.

  • Patent number: 8075325
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly that detaches and mates in wet or contaminated environments is disclosed. The electrical connector assembly is configured for displacing and draining water and other contaminants from contact pins and surrounding surfaces during the connection process. As the electrical connector assembly is mated, water and other containments are removed from the contact pins and the surfaces surrounding the contact pins. This prevents contact pins from electrically shorting with other contact pins as a result of undesired current flow through the water collected on the surface.
