  • Patent number: 6364680
Abstract: A thin line jack expansion module clips onto and electrically connects to a thin line expansion cable. The thin line expansion cable has signal lines for transmitting communications signals. The expansion module has an internal module and an external module. The internal module has a cable bay for accommodating the thin line expansion cable, cable contacts in the cable bay for establishing electrical connections with the signal lines of the thin line expansion cable, and a jack. The jack is electrically connected to the cable contacts. The external module clips onto the internal module and at least partially covers the cable bay. When the thin line expansion cable is set in the cable bay, and the external module is snapped onto the internal module, the cable contacts will electrically connect the jack to the signal lines within the thin line expansion cable.

  • Patent number: 6364715
Abstract: A composite interface structure for jack-plug sockets for mounting to one end of a communication line to provide a plug structure and a jack structure simultaneously includes a body, a plurality of metal strips and a jack frame. The body has one end formed a plug structure, and another end connected the communication line and having a jack frame mounted thereon, and a plurality of longitudinal wire troughs on one side of the body between the two ends for housing the metal strips. The metal strips are embedded in the wire troughs to serve as external contacts of the communication line. The jack frame is straddled over the body and has a jack space formed therein to receive an external plug. The invention further may include a slide mechanism to allow the jack frame to move up or down relative to the body. The interface structure thus constructed is convenient to use and carry.

  • Patent number: 5999391
Abstract: An outage device and a surge-protection that uses the outage device, wherein the outage device is formed by connecting an overcurrent protection and an overheat protection in series, and packaged as a single device. As soon as either the current flowing through the overcurrent protection is too high or the temperature detected by the overheat protection is to high, the outage device forms a open circuit immediately to ensure that no currents are fed into the circuit. The surge protection is formed by connecting the foregoing outage device and a surge-absorbing device in series. The outage device and the surge-absorbing device have to be placed as close as possible, so that the outage device can open the circuit immediately as the temperature of the surge-absorbing device is to high to ensure that no currents are fed into the surge-absorbing device.
