  • Patent number: 6366649
Abstract: A method for managing voice registration entries of voice recognition apparatus for use in both a handset and a hands-free kit. In the method, it is determined whether the handset is set to a hands-free mode where the handset is mounted on a cradle, thus connecting with the hands-free kit. If the handset is set to the hands-free mode, a voice registration entry for the handset is compared with a voice registration entry for the hands-free kit to calculate an entry difference value therebetween. A voice recognition process is performed, if the entry difference value is a minimum value, e.g., substantially zero. If the entry difference is larger than the minimum value, then a voice entry is registered for the hands-free kit, in response to a user confirmation. If the entry difference is smaller than the minimum value, then the voice entry is registered for the handset, in response to a user confirmation.

  • Patent number: 6226532
Abstract: A cellular telephone with a voice dialing function effectively manages a voice recognition memory. The cellular telephone is capable of being connected to a hands-free kit, and has a voice recognition device for extracting feature data from an input voice signal so as to recognize the voice signal and a memory for storing the extended feature data. The memory is divided into a first storage area for storing the feature data input from the cellular telephone, a second storage area for storing the feature data input from the hands-free kit, and a third storage area for storing voice playback data. The third storage area includes a storage region for storing the voice playback data and another storage region for storing a telephone number associated with the voice playback data.

  • Patent number: 5942985
Abstract: An automatic locking/unlocking device has a wireless lock device which includes a lock, a first memory for storing a lock controlling code, a first transmitter for transmitting a wireless transmission signal, a first receiver for receiving a wireless reception signal, a lock control circuit for generating a pilot signal by controlling the first transmitter, for comparing a lock access code included in the wireless reception signal with the lock controlling code when the wireless reception signal is received, releasing the locking function of the lock if the lock access code is identical to the lock controlling code, and locking the lock after a predetermined time has elapsed; and a wireless key device which includes a second memory for storing the lock access code, a second transmitter for transmitting the wireless reception signal, a second receiver for receiving the pilot signal, and a key control circuit for transmitting the lock access code when the pilot signal is received.

  • Patent number: 5661788
Abstract: A method and telephone system for selectively answering incoming telephone calls by enabling user selection of a receiving mode that designates telephone numbers and an alert mode that designates how the user will be notified of incoming calls from the designated telephone numbers, and then establishing an idle state. In response to receipt of an incoming call during the idle state, an outgoing message (OGM) requesting input of the calling party's telephone number is transmitted to the calling party. The calling party's telephone number is received as dual tone multi-frequency (DTMF) signals. The calling party's telephone number is then compared with telephone numbers designated within the selected receiving mode to determine whether the user should be notified of the incoming call.
