    Abstract: A lubricant composition comprising a first fluoropolyether and a second fluoropolyether having nitrogen containing end-group exhibits improved resistance to acid and thermal decomposition. Embodiments include a lubricant composition containing a perfluorinate polyalkylether admixed with a perfluorinated polyalkylether having amide terminal groups and applying the composition to the surface of a magnetic recording medium to form a homogeneous lubricant topcoat thereon.
