Abstract: A method for a scheduled-recording of a program and an image display apparatus using the same are provided. The method for a scheduled-recording of a program includes displaying a search menu for searching other programs related to a program being displayed, and scheduling the recording of at least one program from among programs searched according to search options selected from the search menu. Therefore, a scheduled-recording may be readily set without searching for each program separately from an electronic program guide screen, and thus, greater convenience is provided to the user.

Abstract: A method for providing program guides and an image display apparatus using the method, are provided where a displayed program guide screen is formed in a shape in which a program guide on a first channel surrounds the outer periphery of a program guide on a second channel according to formation information set for formation of the program guides. An electronic program guide EPG is thereby formed using a concentric circle layout with respect to multiple channels and a broadcast program screen of a selected channel is displayed at a central portion of the EPG, so that the recognizability and the readability are improved as well as the convenience for a user.

Abstract: Provided are a digital broadcast receiver and a method of providing a program guide, which enable a user to easily watch in real time or time-record a broadcast program of his or her interest. The digital broadcast receiver includes a reading unit which reads program guide information from a data signal contained in a broadcast signal, and a control unit which extracts an item chosen by a user from the read program guide information and outputs the extracted item when a broadcast program that matches the extracted item is broadcasted.
