A transmission apparatus in an embodiment may include first to M-th transmission antennas, where M is a natural number?2; first to L-th encoders, where L is a natural number?2; and first to M-th transmission signal generators. The l-th encoder (where l=arbitrary natural number between 1 and L) receives an l-th symbol sequence and generates first to M-th encoded symbol sequences by encoding the received l-th symbol sequence according to an l-th multiple antenna transmission scheme. The m-th transmission signal generator (where m=arbitrary natural number between 1 and M) combines m-th encoded symbol sequences generated by the encoders to generate a signal to be transmitted via the m-th transmission antenna.
