    Abstract: A discharge valve device of a rotary compressor comprises a discharge passage formed in the wall of a cylinder for connecting to a compression chamber, a discharge valve for blocking/opening the discharge passage depending upon the gas pressure in the chamber, and a spring for restricting the movement of the discharge valve. The discharge valve moves along a passage wall in contact therewith during travel between its blocking/opening positions.
