    Abstract: An apparatus and method that prevent a bit error in a static random access memory (SRAM)-based Physically Unclonable function (PUF). The method for preventing an error in a PUF includes selecting any value, from a physically unclonable function based on a volatile memory device, as an input value, and checking a response corresponding to the selected input value, classifying cells having a plurality of bits corresponding to the response depending on frequency of error occurrence, calculating a number of white cells, in which an error does not occur, from classified results, and determining whether the number of white cells is greater than a preset threshold number of white cells, and selecting an input value of the physically unclonable function based on results of determination.

    Abstract: A secret key generation apparatus and method are provided. The secret key generation apparatus includes at least one antenna, amplification/phase controllers, a transceiver, and a random signal controller. The antenna receives a wireless signal from a counterpart terminal that performs wireless communication. The amplification/phase controllers control the amplification gain and phase of the wireless signal that is received via at least one antenna. The transceiver measures the status of a wireless channel using the wireless signal having the controlled amplification gain and phase, determines parameters based on results of the measurement, and generates a secret key based on results of the determination. The random signal controller controls the amplification/phase controllers so that the amplification gain and phase are adjusted whenever the transceiver generates a secret key.

The apparatus includes a transmitter that generates a key resynchronization frame containing key resynchronization information and vector information on voice data inserted thereinto and transmits the key resynchronization frame, and a receiver that receives the key resynchronization frame from the transmitter, extracts the vector information inserted in the key resynchronization frame, and estimates a voice data value corresponding to the key resynchronization period. Based on change ratio between slopes calculated using received voice data, it is possible to estimate the voice data corresponding to a silent period, which improves communication quality.
