The processor may be configured to receive a user utterance including a specified word through the microphone, to calculate a first confidence level of the received user utterance, to receive a second confidence level of the user utterance calculated by an external electronic device, from the external electronic device through the communication circuit, to compare the first confidence level and the second confidence level, and to perform an operation corresponding to the user utterance when the first confidence level is higher than the second confidence level. Other various embodiments as understood from the specification are also possible.
