  • Publication number: 20080191971
Abstract: In a plasma display device and a driving method thereof, a switch for applying a voltage rising waveform to a scan electrode during an idle period and a first period is coupled between the scan electrode and a power source. The switch applies the voltage rising waveform having a first slope by being repeatedly turned on/off according to a first control signal during the idle period, and/or the switch applies the voltage rising waveform having a second slope (having a higher gradient than the first slope) by being repeatedly turned on/off according to a second control signal during the first period. As such, the scan electrode voltage is increased with the first slope during the idle period to perform a more stable reset operation. Also, when the idle period does not exist, the voltage of the scan electrode is increased within the first period to enable a normal reset operation.

  • Publication number: 20080174810
Abstract: According to a technique described herein, whenever there are print jobs waiting in a currently idle printing device's queue, the printing device selects, from among those print jobs, the longest-waiting print job that does not require any resources that the printing device cannot currently supply without human intervention. The printing device removes that print job from the queue and prints that print job, even if other print jobs have been waiting longer in the queue. If the queue contains print jobs that the printing device cannot currently print because the printing device currently lacks sufficient resources to print those print jobs completely, then, for each such print job, the printing device displays reasons why that print job cannot currently be printed. The reasons may include information that identifies the qualities and/or quantities of the resources that the printing device currently lacks but needs.

  • Patent number: 7372831
Abstract: Transmitting an acknowledgement/negative acknowledgement (ACK/NACK) signal in association with a packet transmitted on an uplink is disclosed. The method includes the steps of receiving a packet transmitted from a user equipment, decoding the packet, and determining whether the packet has been successfully decoded, transmitting an ACK signal or a NACK signal, based on the decoding result. Different transmission powers are allocated for the ACK signal and the NACK signal. Alternatively, the transmission power for the NACK signal selectively has an OFF level. The present invention optimizes the transmission powers for downlink ACK/NACK signals in accordance with the required reception quality of each of the ACK/NACK signals, and thus, enables the system to operate efficiently.

  • Publication number: 20080102846
Abstract: A method for adaptively allocating resources of an uplink control channel according to a system situation is disclosed. If a base station (BS) recognizes the system situation, establishes control information for resource allocation, and transmits the control information to a mobile station (MS), the mobile station (MS) allocates resources for transmitting uplink control information using a specific block or a specific resource distribution method according to the corresponding control information. The system situation may be changed according to the number of users contained in the BS's coverage or the usage of a multi-antenna. The variation of the system situation is actively reflected so that the uplink channel resources can be effectively used.

  • Patent number: 7365710
Abstract: A PDP driving method. A falling ramp voltage is applied to a scan electrode so as to reset a state of wall charges of a discharge cell during a reset period. In this instance, a sustain electrode is maintained at a high voltage during an initial period for applying the falling ramp voltage, and the voltage at the sustain electrode is reduced to a normal voltage at a latter part of the period for applying the falling ramp voltage. Accordingly, the voltage applied to an address electrode is reduced in an address period since an erased amount of the wall charges of the address electrode is reduced during the reset period.
