    Abstract: An apparatus is capable of allocating an ACK/NACK channel in a wireless communication system. The apparatus performs a method for allocating the ACK/NACK channel at a base station that includes generating ACK/NACK channel allocation information of a packet transmitted to a terminal; inserting the ACK/NACK channel allocation information into the packet using a padding area indicative of a size difference of data carried by the packet and an Automatic Repeat Request (ARQ) block; and transmitting the packet comprising the inserted ACK/NACK channel allocation information to a terminal to service.

    Abstract: A Handover apparatus and method of a Mobile Station (MS) in a wireless communication system in which at least one small cell resides in a macro cell includes, when entering a neighboring small cell, checking a movement speed of the MS. The method also includes determining whether to hand over to the small cell by taking into account the movement speed of the MS. When it is determined not to hand over to the small cell, that MS transmits small cell penetration information to a macro Base Station (BS); allocates a macro only resource from the macro BS; and communicates with the macro BS in the small cell using the macro only resource allocated from the macro BS.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for transmitting MAP by a base station in a wireless mobile communication system using a frame that includes a plurality of mini frames occupying a specific time period, each of the mini frames including a plurality of Resource Blocks (RBs) occupying a specific frequency band are provided. A number of RBs to be occupied by a data burst to be transmitted is determined. A first variable indicative of a number of mini frames to be occupied by the data burst is determined based on a resource amount corresponding to the number of RBs and an available resource amount of the mini frame. A second variable is determined based on the number of RBs and the first variable. MAP is transmitted that includes the first variable, the second variable, and information indicating RBs where a resource is allocated in a mini frame first located in a time domain among the mini frames to be occupied by the data burst.

    Abstract: An apparatus and a method for supporting an HARQ scheme in a wireless communication system are provided. In a method for operating a base station, whether a resource used for a system of a different standard and a resource used for one of an HARQ reply and an HARQ retransmission packet by a synchronous HARQ scheme collide with each other is estimated. A collision packet ID is allocated to an HARQ subburst corresponding to one of an HARQ reply and an HARQ retransmission packet estimated to collide, and an offset of the one of the HARQ reply and the HARQ retransmission packet is changed. A MAP message including at least one of the collision packet ID, and changed offset information is generated. The MAP message is transmitted.
