  • Publication number: 20140133489
Abstract: Provided is a method for transmitting packet-based media data having a header in which an overhead is minimized. A method for media data transmission may comprise the steps of: encapsulating media data to allow a media fragment unit (MFU) header and an M-unit header to share one format; allowing an MMT payload format to include a header field for an operation which is not supported by an RTP header, and transferring the encapsulated media data from a specific entity to another entity; and controlling the transfer of the media data. Therefore, a transmission overhead is minimized, so that it is possible to efficiently transmit media data.

  • Publication number: 20130282871
Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and method for transmitting and receiving a streaming service. An inter-arrival jitter may correspond to a delay variation in arrival time between TCP packets arriving at an apparatus for receiving the streaming service. The apparatus for receiving the streaming service may determine a de-jitter buffering time to absorb a network jitter before TS packets in a TCP packet is input to a T-STD buffer model. Based on the de-jitter buffering time, an initial playout delay lime at the apparatus for receiving the streaming service may be determined.

  • Patent number: 8483201
Abstract: A server and a terminal enabling channel capacity estimation in a High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) network and a method of controlling the server and the terminal are provided. More particularly, when transmitting data between both terminals in an HSDPA network, a server end may transmit a packet pair of the same size and a client end may measure a time difference between the packet pair and thereby proceed filtering. Through this, it is possible to estimate the channel capacity. Therefore, it is possible to prevent data transmission from exceeding the channel capacity in the HSDPA to thereby prevent a packet loss and to effectively use a channel.
