Abstract: The present disclosure relates to water filter and a home appliance having the water filter, the water filter detachably coupled to a head connected to a water supply source comprises a housing having an upper opening formed at an upper portion thereof, and configured to be coupled to the head by rotation; a filter cover provided inside the housing to cover the upper opening and including a water inlet part protruding upward through which water flows in, and a water outlet part through which water flows out; and a filter member disposed inside the housing and connected to the filter cover to purify water, wherein the filter cover includes a fixing protrusion protruding upward to be inserted into the head and the fixing protrusion is configured to keep the filter cover fixed state when the housing rotates.
