Abstract: An electronic apparatus is provided. The electronic apparatus include: a memory unit which downloads a CAS client from a server and stores the CAS client, a communication unit which receives a message to change a storage location of the CAS client from the server, and a controller which changes a storage location of the CAS client and stores the storage location according to the message received from the server. The method includes downloading a CAS client from a server and storing the CAS client in a memory; receiving from the server a message to change a storage location of the CAS client; changing a storage location of the CAS client, and storing the changed storage location according to the message received from the server.

Abstract: Provided are a video on demand (VOD) transmission/reception method and system using a divided transport stream (TS). The VOD transmission method includes setting a division coefficient for dividing a TS; dividing the TS into a unicast segment and multicast segments according to the division coefficient; and transmitting the unicast segment by using a unicast method and transmitting the multicast segments by using a multicast method.

Abstract: A set-top box identification method and system for identifying the set-top box which is currently connected to a Downloadable Conditional Access System (DCAS) based on set-top box manufacturer and/or set-top box model are provided. The set-top box identification method for the DCAS includes retrieving set-top box type information upon receipt of a set-top box information request transmitted by a DCAS headend, transmitting the set-top box information including the set-top box type information to the DCAS headend, and identifying, at the DCAS headend, the set-top box based on the set-top box information. The DCAS headend can acquire the information on the connected set-top box at any time and determine the manufacturer and model of the set-top box from the set-top box information.
