Abstract: A mobile terminal has a controller, a display and an input device connected to the controller, and a digital object browser for browsing among a plurality of available digital objects. A first representation and a second representation of each of the digital objects are presentable on a display screen. The first representations of the digital objects are presented along a predefined path on the display screen, the first representation of a focused one of the digital objects being shown in a focus area on the display screen. For the focused digital object, the second representation thereof is presented in a preview area on the display screen.

Whenever the at least one further predetermined condition is met while a user has not yet checked the event, a notification about the event is provided. A mobile electronic device is shown can use the method and it can be carried out by a software program product for such a mobile electronic device.

Abstract: A method of changing an alphabetic character to a variant character when entering information or messages in a mobile phone or a game console or the like. The variant character can be a diacritical variation or a tonal variation of the alphabetic character. After an alphabetic character is entered and displayed on a display device, the star key in the keypad can be used to replace the displayed alphabetic character with a desired one of the variants.

Abstract: A method for treating a subscriber data list of the subscriber identity module of a mobile station in a linear memory of the subscriber identity module, and a subscriber identity module and a mobile station. A directory structure is formed in the memory of the subscriber identity module with the aid of a directory separator. The directory separator is for instance the symbol “/”. Then for instance in the GSM system a “name” located in the “directory” is represented according to the directory structure as a term “directory/name” in the linear memory of the subscriber identity module, but the user treats the list of numbers by directories, and most preferably in an alphabetical order.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for controlling a mobile phone when it has been lost or stolen in order to prevent its use except to help the owner find it. Controlling the phone remotely may be implemented via a known Short Messaging System, for example. The security features provided are as follows: (1) Displaying contact information (phone number) of the owner on screen when the mobile phone can not start up normally, for example, due to an incorrect security code entry; (2) Setting the mobile phone in a secure state where it can only be used to call one number (Emergency calls are of course always possible.); and (3) Commanding the mobile phone to send information about its location and usage via SMS to a given number.

The topic or item may be automatically updated by the latest edition of the information without user intervention when an update period expires.
