  • Publication number: 20230113714
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for optical signal measurement are described. A wearable electronic device may activate a first combination of optical sensors, the first combination of optical sensors including a set of transmitter sensors and a set of receiver sensors. In some cases, one or more optical sensor of the first combination of optical sensors may be positioned under a protrusion on an inner surface of the wearable electronic device. The device may measure, at the set of receiver sensors at a first time, one or more signals from the set of transmitter sensors, determine a signal quality metric associated with the one or more signals, and select a second combination of optical sensors for use at a second time based on the signal quality metric.

  • Publication number: 20230096307
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for temperature calibration are described. A device may support temperature calibration for a set of temperature sensors. For example, a wearable device may activate a set of temperature sensors associated with the wearable device. The set of temperature sensors may include a primary temperature sensor and one or more secondary temperature sensors. The wearable device may determine a trigger to calibrate the one or more secondary temperature sensors based on one or more conditions, and calibrate the one or more secondary temperature sensors using the primary temperature sensor based on the trigger. Based on the calibrating, the wearable device may process temperature data associated with a user that is received from one or more of the primary temperature sensor or the one or more secondary temperature sensors.

  • Patent number: 6671193
Abstract: A power source with an arrangement for restricting short-circuit current includes at least a primary-side switch block, a transformer unit and a rectifier. The rectifier includes switching transistors for rectifying the secondary side of the transformer. Operation of the rectifier depends on a control from a pulse-forming part of the primary-side switch block. Control for the switching transistors in the rectifier is interrupted when the output current of the rectifier exceeds a limit value. At least one other switch element is arranged parallel to each of the switching transistors in the rectifier to realize a secondary-side rectification in an overload situation.

  • Patent number: 6489878
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a magnetic power component and to a magnetic power component. The component comprises a multi-layer coil (1) which consists of several windings disposed in the layers, first and second electrical conductors (5, 6) which are electrically connected to the selected windings, and a first and a second core part (7, 8) which are arranged to direct magnetism to the windings. The first side (2) of the multi-layer coil (1) is provided with a cavity (9) and the first core part (7) is at least partially mounted in the cavity.

  • Patent number: 6069548
Abstract: The invention relates to a planar transformer arrangement for an electric circuit located on a circuit board. The arrangement comprises (a) a first circuit board (PCB1) on which said electric circuit has been implemented, (b) a supplementary circuit board piece (PCB2), (c) a primary winding which comprises at least one substantially planar conductive pattern formed on a circuit board, (d) a secondary winding which comprises at least one substantially planar conductive pattern formed on a circuit board, and (e) a transformer core (F1, F2) which surrounds the primary and secondary windings at least partially. To create an inexpensive but efficient transformer structure suitable for use in an automatic manufacturing process, both the primary and the secondary windings have been formed on the supplementary circuit board piece (PCB2).
