  • Patent number: 6950068
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a structure suitable as an internal antenna in small radio devices, and an antenna element to which the method is applied. The antenna element comprises a radiating plane and additionally e.g. supportive elements, a feed conductor and short-circuit conductor as well as extensions to increase capacitance. The antenna element is fabricated by first extruding from a billet an antenna billet, and working the latter as required. The antenna billet may be symmetrical so that two antenna elements will be produced when it is cut in half. Advantageously the antenna element is fabricated so as to conform with the covering of the device in which it is placed. It may also be part of a covering of a device. The manufacturing costs of the antenna element are relatively low and the radio characteristics of the element are good. An antenna structure employing the element has got few separate parts and is mechanically firm and space-conserving.

  • Patent number: 6140973
Abstract: An antenna construction comprises a feed conductor (11, 21) and an antenna element (12, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27) which has a first end and a second end. The feed conductor is substantially electrically unshielded and coupled to the antenna element at a tapping point (13, 23) located between the first end and second end of the antenna element the tapping point dividing the antenna element into two portions having unequal electrical lengths. The antenna element may be a helix (12), a whip (22) or another known two-ended antenna element or a combination of those.

  • Patent number: 5990848
Abstract: The invention relates to a particular structure of high-frequency antenna, which comprises a support element (1) provided with a cylindrical coil conductor which forms a helix (2). On the support element (1) there is formed, for example by means of a conductive coating, the electrical parts of the antenna, such as the attachment points (3b) for the helix and for other parts, such as feeder lines (4), radiators (5) or impedance matching devices. By varying the number and size of the helices (2), the number and form of the feeder lines (4) and radiators (5) and the quality of any impedance matching devices, it is possible without difficulty to obtain a very wide choice of different antenna structures. The feeder lines and radiators extend, at least in part, within the helix.

  • Patent number: 5734351
Abstract: The invention relates to a double-action, two-piece antenna structure whose first antenna part, preferably a helix antenna (1), is fixedly connected to the antenna port of a radio communications set, and the second antenna port, preferably a rod antenna (2), is movable with respect to the first antenna part. In an active position, the second antenna part (2) is coupled to the first antenna part (1), forming a serial connection whose electrical length is as great as or greater than the electrical length of the first antenna part alone.
