  • Patent number: 7415814
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for packaging rolls, particularly paper web rolls; the method includes the steps of taking a roll into a supported position on a roll rotation station and wrapping onto the roll a paper wrapper or the like material dispensed by means of at least one wrapper dispensing station and dispensing means, whereby the wrapper is wound so as to form either a centered wrapping or an overlapping wrapping. The invention is implemented by way of aligning the roll for the wrapping operation by means of transferring the roll rotation station laterally in the axial direction of the roll in regard to the wrapper dispensing system. The invention also relates to an apparatus and a novel roll package utilizing the method.

  • Patent number: 7036663
Abstract: A package of a roll, particularly a paper web roll comprising a wrapper, particularly a paper web wrapper wound stagewise into at least two wrappings about the roll in an overlap fashion. The paper web wrapper is wound about the roll in a slightly helical manner so that the edges of the wrapper layers overlap in a staggered fashion. The staggered edges of the overlap wrapping are formed so that each superposed wrapper layer conceals the underlying wrapper layer, whereby in a finished wrapping of a product only one wrapper edge remains visible.

  • Publication number: 20050061699
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for packaging rolls, particularly paper web rolls (5), the method comprising the steps of taking a roll into a supported position on a wrapping station (6) and wrapping onto the roll a paper wrapper (1, 1a) or the like material dispensed by means of at least one wrapper dispensing station (8) and dispensing means (9), whereby the wrapper is wound so as to form either a centered wrapping or an overlapping wrapping. The invention is implemented by way of aligning the roll (5) for the wrapping operation by means of transferring the wrapping station (6) laterally in the axial direction of the roll in regard to the wrapper dispensing system (8, 9). The invention also relates to an apparatus and a novel roll package utilizing the method.

  • Publication number: 20030094391
Abstract: A method is disclosed for connecting adjacent objects (1) such as paper rolls to each other, the method comprising the step of inserting a bushing (3) through the center bores of at least two adjacent paper rolls. The method is implemented by way of moving the parts of the bushing (3) formed by at least two parts in the bore of the objects relative to each other, whereby the parts are guided by the mating division surfaces (A, B) of the bushings, at least one of the mating surfaces having a spiraling shape, in the longitudinal axis direction of the bushing so that the outer diameter (U) of the bushing increases thus causing the bushing to expand tight in the center bores of the objects (1). The invention also concerns a device for connecting objects (1) to each other.

  • Patent number: 5967509
Abstract: An apparatus for picking roll headers (2) separately one-by-one from a stack (1). The apparatus includes a picking device (3), which is adapted for picking always the uppermost header (2) from the stack (1). The invention is implemented by providing the apparatus with at least one clamp member (6) arranged to extend at least partially above the header stack (1) simultaneously being supported against the upper rim edge of the header stack (1), whereby the clamp member(s) (6) is/are able to keep the next header below stationary during the picking of the uppermost header.

  • Patent number: 5702183
Abstract: A silo-like container includes an apparatus for discharging material within the container. The container interior bottom member leaves an annular opening with respect to the container walls, through which opening material may fall to be collected. A preferably toothed discharge ring is disposed above the interior bottom member and is rotated by a drive wheel. A retaining element preferably having teeth-like members is mounted adjacent the interior wall of the silo. As the discharge ring is rotated, planetary motion preferably about a silo axis occurs. The retaining element teeth-like members cooperate with the toothed portion of the discharge ring to urge rotational movement of the discharge ring about its own virtual axis. Discharge ring motion urges material within the silo radially outward toward the annular opening. The retaining element is mounted above the discharge ring such that the discharge ring is prevented from rising upward.

  • Patent number: 4177942
Abstract: The discharge opening from a silo is formed by two generally upwardly extending bottom plates placed in a V-shaped configuration. The bottom plates are reciprocatingly movable with the aid of hydraulic cylinders. At their lower ends the bottom plates form an aperture for the discharge of goods from the silo. The bottom plates are pivotally suspended at their top margins. Their lower margins are pivotally interconnected by means of connecting pieces. The hydraulic cylinders are pivotally connected to the connecting pieces and to the bottom plates and the pivotal connections of the connecting pieces to the bottom plates and hydraulic cylinders from a linkage quadrangle. The hydraulic cylinders are arranged to move the linkage quadrangle thus produced, in such a manner that the bottom plates will swing reciprocatingly about their top edges or margins.
