    Abstract: The system detects and monitors the rotational speed N.sub.R of a rotor and the rotational speed N.sub.TL of a motor of a helicopter and includes first and second devices for detecting N.sub.R and N.sub.TL, and delivering signals to first and second processing units which are connected to a display unit for displaying N.sub.R and N.sub.TL. The second processing unit includes an electronic processing unit which receives the signals relating to N.sub.TL and the signals relating to N.sub.R and which is capable of comparing the values of N.sub.R and N.sub.TL in such a way that, if the difference between the values of N.sub.R and N.sub.TL is less than or equal to a predetermined threshold, the second processing unit controls the display of N.sub.R and N.sub.TL such that N.sub.R and N.sub.TL are aligned on the display unit.
